If they called the police before he had done anything, what would they do. If they called afterwords, the damage to the young victim would already be done. The story tries to hint that the perp was not caught in the act, but that's not completely clear. But after stopping and subduing him, with whatever force that took, then they should have called the police, to make sure all the paperwork gets filled out properly.
They didn't trust the cops because it was the legal system that arranged for him to be there in the first place. There is a woman who lives next door who has three kids.
The press has been soft pedaling the story. They are very cushy with the JSO and the city and the stories have become more vague. I could only link to what was in print.
When you've got a .45 leveled at the pedophiles head?
Who would like to have perverts as neighbors ? Why, that must do wonders for neighborhood property values !
From the article, despite the innuendo, we don't which situation this was. It's quite possible they did catch him in the act. It's even possible that one of them called the police, since the beatee was apparently in no shape to have called them himself.
When I saw his cuts and bruises, I saw red. I grabbed my son and my tennis racket and we drove around until I found the bully and threatened him with a few lessons unless he marched himself back to the principals office and confessed, which he did.
My son, now 19 and 6'2 has never forgotten that day. It really says something to a kid when you (the powerful adult) are willing to stand up and defend them. What does it say to the kids of Springfield that our city has put a halfway house for pedophiles there...
And the drippy woman who runs the program apparently doesn't have a clue about the rate of recidivism for her clients.
Gee .. thanks!
They should have hog tied him and taken him out to the swamp so the gators could have some fresh meat.
I hope that these days, you would be reaching for a gun. Pennsylvania is a shall issue concealed handgun license state. That means unless you have a disqualification defined in the law, they must issue you a permit/license.
But you are also correct in that using your vehicle as a weapon, or for a quick get away is a smart thing to do.

I remember a hard core metal song with these lyrics:
"Two wrongs don't make a right, but it makes me feel a whole lot better".

JACKSONVILE, FL--Some parents find confusion on the website that tracks sexual offenders and predators.
"I just lost it. I was out the door," says a Mandarin father, who asked that he be called Watson. Anger bubbles as he talks about learning his daughter was molested, molested by a man who he says was a trusted roommate.
"I beat him pretty bad," says Watson.
John Childers went to prison for the sex crime, he's been out for two years. Watson says he only learned of the release because now Childers is back in jail, arrested for violating probation.
"We were going to be informed, that he was going to be released. We were never informed," says Watson.
Even though he now knows of the Florida Department of Law Enforcements website, www.fdle.state.fl.us, Watson says it's hard to be informed -- and others agree.
"This one's written out where people can understand, but there not all written out like that," says Sabrina Gouch of the Justice Coalition as she looks over qualifying offenses on the states website. She fields plenty of calls about the sex offender website.
All too often the abbreviations, in a language only a deputy can understand, leave well-meaning parents with questions about what the offender really did.
She suggests calling the FDLEs sex offender unit at 1-888-FL-PREDATOR between 8 AM and 6 PM with any questions.
"I've contacted them myself and they can tell you exactly what those terms mean," says Gouch.
Gouch also recommends getting a police report from the arresting agency to find out what details were associated with the arrest.
Unfortunately Watson is now no stranger to this world, even though he wishes he could be. "If you want to be informed by this, this is what you need to do, not leave it to having to catch it on the 6 o'clock news."
I just remembered....the group was Suicidal Tendencies.
They say two wrongs don't make a right
Well maybe that is true
But I can't describe the feeling I get
When I take revenge on you
This sort of vigilantism used to be the norm when perverts tried to mess with children or innocents. That's why this sort of predator activity was rare.
