Did we just hear the sound of a flip-flop?

... Jan LaRue, chief counsel for the conservative group Concerned Women for America, said she was puzzled because Specter has a reputation for being precise about constitutional law.

Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

ugh. When will the folks saying, "I'm not making up my mind until I hear more" finally decide, "OK, that's enough"?

If they're waiting for the hearings, I'm afraid they'll be disappointed with a Ginsberg shuffle.

How about if there is a Ginsburg shuffe then she should be voted down.

I'm waiting for the hearings. If there's a Ginsburg shuffle, she should be voted down. Until then, she and Bush deserve the benefit of the doubt.

The conservatives that have worked so hard for so many yrs deserve something more than "trust me". Oh, I forgot she worked once at Meals on Wheels. This man couldn't have nominated anyone worse from a PR standpoint. As I have stated since this man became president that the "Two-Party Cartel" won't allow a true conservative agenda ie SC & it won't be when GW leaves office. This is the type candidate we get? You better believe that Bubba didn't put a 'trust me "candidate up.

Specter has a reputation for being precise about constitutional law.

Well, Scotland's constitution, maybe.

*This man*? You mean George W. Bush? Sounds to me like you have a built-in distain for "this man."

the Democrats are so stupid and so weak that conservatives haven't had a good fight in a long time. So now they are starting a fight within in order to have a good opponent.

The trouble is that Reagan had a rule - the 11th Commandment - and now conservatives are fighting harder against each other than they did against anything Kerry and democrats did in the past 5 years.

Bush on the other hand took the fight to Kerry and Shumer, he did not back down, he won reelection and conservatives think he owes them - he paid off with Bolton, Roberts, Rice at State, Sessions, Owens, Brown and many many more. He is a bigger fighter than most; the elite conservatives have proven they don't know when to pick a fight...without first shooting themselves. Today's great quote is from Thomas Sowell, "Some of the most vocal critics of the way things are being done are people who have done nothing themselves, and whose only contributions to society are their complaints and moral exhibitionism."

I don't care about the PR. I care about results. And I trust that Bush does, too.

If you really, really want to tick off Sen Specter, tell him the squash courts are closed.

He will go nuts. The man is a squash fanatic (and I do mean fanatic).

The Bible says that we may find ourselves speaking to a angel without knowing it.

What if we are submarining a Godly woman sent from heaven ?

If Harriet is the real deal as GW says, then the damage we are doing may be unrepairable.

Good grief. Have you seen any evidence to suggest that Harriet Miers is an angel sent by God? If so, then you'd better tell Rove and Card, so they can change their game plan again.

Yes, there are anonymous figures in the Bible who, according to many authoritative interpreters, may be angels in disguise. One of the best known is the figure who appears unnamed in a single verse of Genesis to tell Joseph where his brothers have gone, so he can catch up to them and be sold into slavery in Egypt, thus leading toward the fulfillment of the Covenant.

I doubt whether Harriet Miers is about to mysteriously vanish after she delivers a providential message. To the contrary, we will be stuck with her for life.

No No, I do not have a distain for this man. I did not vote for him the 1st time because I didn't see a conservative agenda. I certainly voted for him last election because that other doofus is totally unqualified & I have NEVER voted dem. I have voted 3rd party since Reagan because this "Two-Party Cartel" has not earned my vote. (This may be off topic but how do you feel when you see GW promoting Bubba on stage next to him?) As GW has said, actions have consequences. Now you must live with it, GW.
