How can the Sheeple see stuff like this and swallow Boren's bulls**t story?
"Sic'em Bears!!!" (class of 1980)
"Wow. I missed this ping last night. I'm surprised Boren's pants haven't turned to ashes by now."
LOL!
Thanks Liberty. I remember you guys talking about the padlocks shown on film...
PhiKapMom...have you ever heard anything more about who padlocked these exits?
Absolutely a first-class suicide prevention program. (Apparently...)
Or would that be to the University? ;)

Letter outlines stadium security

The University of Oklahoma football fans should arrive a little early for Saturdays game.
OU football season ticket holders Monday received a letter from university president David Boren that explains stadium security. The letter came with an urgent-looking flier entitled For Your Safety, which outlines evacuation procedures in words typed in all capital letters.
The Sooners football game this Saturday against Baylor will be their first at Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium since the Oct. 1 bombing on the South Oval during the OU-Kansas State football game.
Engineering student Joel Henry Hinrichs III carried the bomb and died in the blast. Boren detailed in the letter what he, university staff and law enforcement did in the moments following the explosion, then explained stadium security procedures and resources that have been in place since shortly after the 9/11 attacks.
They include bomb X-ray devices, many security cameras placed throughout the stadium and concrete barriers to block off streets or sidewalks.
Attention on stadium security and what to do in the event of an emergency will be increased prior to this Saturdays game, scheduled to kick off shortly after 6 p.m.
At the next home game, all fans will be given safety instructions when they enter the stadium, Boren wrote. I wanted to share with you, our season ticket holders, the enclosed safety instructions (the flier) in advance so that you may have time to think about them before coming to the game. I would also advise coming to the game a little earlier since searches at gates will be particularly thorough.

Suspicious package harmless

An unattended package atop a trash can on Elm Avenue caused a stir late Monday afternoon.
University of Oklahoma police received a call about 5:15 p.m. about the item found between Burton Hall and OUs Elm Avenue parking garage. Lt. Bruce Chan of OUPD said officers were sent to the area, and they confirmed the suspicious package was there.
At that point, we closed Elm from Brooks down to Boyd, though we left open the lane to exit the garage, and closed sidewalks in the immediate area, Chan said. The Norman Hazardous Devices Unit was called in and they responded and determined it presented no hazard. Once we had that, we reopened (the area) about 6:45 p.m.
The item turned out to be an insulated cooler. A medical center logo was on its side, but police dont know what it actually was used for or by whom.
Wow! That is some powerful connections and reveals things I've not heard before. I was especially intrigued by the idea that the guys on Flight 93 were CIA operatives on a sting assignment that went bad. Explains some odd things.
Well don't you know, according to many on the FR your son does not have to march in a band so he should just shut up and let the JBTs do their search./sarcasm
The list of things we cannot do without a violation of the 4th amendment grows every day and again there are those on the FR that will say you don't have to do this or that. The same crowd also pukes out the response that we don't have the right to do most things.
So lets continue to violate the rights of 350+ Million LEGAL US citizens so that we don't profile the maggot infested sub-human debris known as mudslimes. Pig Pi$$ be upon them and their demented grand pubah, MoHamMud.
ROFLMAO!

I guess the suicide note left on the computer screen by the muslim roommate did little to allay fears...
Ping for later reading.
"The item turned out to be an insulated cooler."
These are known to have been used to transport TATP in the London subway bombings. One of the ingredients is a "heat tablet," that to my understanding is used to warm food in the field by various militaries. As a result, TATP is quite volatile unless kept on ice or cooled in some other manner.
That would explain the reaction over a cooler.
MKM
This might not be isolated to OK football games. A report in the Austin paper said there would be no backpacks allowed at the last two home games. I don't recall a reason being given.
That's sad. If I move to Tim-buc-too, I'd still be a loyal fan of University of Texas Longhorns and no others.
Snort.
"I don't recall a reason being given."
I'd say that the reason "is" a given.
