So one makes money causing and supporting the war and then turns around and makes money on the peace process.

Aha. Isn't this also the reason that Germany and France (and Russia?) didn't want to us take out Saddam Hussein? They were making a swift business selling arms to the Iraqis. I remember during the Iraq war there were a lot of European-made weapons our guys had to deal with.

FRENCH 101:

It's a simple, single syllable word: FRANCE. "France" is not pronounced in a sharp, elevated voice, but rather in the manner of breaking wind slowly, as after a large, seemingly satisfying meal that didn't quite agree with you. As in FRAAAAaance... But with a falling, defeatist tone, distinctive odor and, ideally, adequate ventilation.

There is only ONE reason to hate the French. They are French. This was well know as early as the end of World War I, and need not be repeated here.

They also had exclusive rights to many of the oil fields. We wanted Iraqis to develop those oil fields and sell it on the free market. Russia wanted to increase its market share thus inabling them to break OPEC and control the oil market. France was just looking for a secured oil supply for itself.

I didn't need another reason, but thanks.

So, when do the voters in France get to kick out Chirac (a la Schroeder)?

"...in countries like that, genocide is not a big deal." - Francois Mitterand. I hope he is burning in Hell with Hitler and Stalin.
