Counterpunch, see what I meant when I said nothing would boost Bush's popularity faster than to rehash this old discredited junk?

Sure, and I already floated the idea that maybe Bush does this stuff on purpose.

The question is though, do we want to be talking about this again instead of the role of the Judiciary?

I had to look at the original article because I wanted to see if this was a cut and paste error (or at least corrected by the editor):

"A former Texas Lottery official said he wants to talk to senators about the Supreme Court nominee's role in covering up his Bush's record"

It's the lead sentence. What does "covering up his Bush's record" mean??? "his Bush's"??? So eager to "get Bush" they are falling over themselves to spit out the words.

Reminds me of the Bush-Ken Lay connection in a magazine. Intro paragraphs all went into how Bush's baseball team played at Enron Field. But Bush's team was the (Arlington) Texas Rangers and the Houston Astros played at Ken Lay's Enron Field. A stadium local Rats rallied for.

As I've been trying to tell people, we really don't need to go through all this again.

Maybe Bush should resign, huh?

Apparently, you do. Good luck with it. Wear protective goggles to preserve your eyes when it blows up in your face.

Right Miers is not acceptable because Bush served in the Texas National Guard.

Let the RATs try and run this dead horse once again so far it hasn't gotten past the starting gate.

If you're going to post my work, at least have the courtesy of posting the link to where people can get it.

But I am with Bush. I'm just not a mindless follower, and right now, the overwhelming consensus is Bush needs to be saved... from himself. Consider this an intervention. We're only confronting him because we care.

Kumbaya, my Lord, Kumbaya ...

But I am with Bush. I'm just not a mindless follower, and right now, the overwhelming consensus is Bush needs to be saved... from himself. Consider this an intervention.

Translation: "I actually WAS for President Bush ... before I was against him."

If the RATs reject Mier they know that will not result in a less conservative nominee but a more conservative one. And the public will have seen them picking on nice Auntie Harriet.

They will not reject her.

This:

What's next, a post from another rag claiming that Miers helped steal the 2000 and 2004 elections?

Because you know it's coming. And probably from our side.

You are extremely naive if you think that President Bush and his advisers did not consider all this; extremely naive.

And you're naive if you think Bush is some sort of grand player of politics. He's terrible. Now that's fine in most cases. We don't want calculating, Machiavellian types as president, but Bush has shown more than once that he can get the politics of a situation wrong. Very wrong.

Really, if he was as savvy as you think, he wouldn't have a 40% approval rating.

Now I'm not knocking him on ideological grounds. He's certainly on the right side of the political fence, but I'm just now willing to trust his judgment on this.
