History will look back on the MSM and judge it as not doing it's job IMO.

"We asked CBS News national editor Bill Felling, who told us the network is looking into the story. Let’s hope so, it’s one worth airing, whatever the facts are."

Yeah, right. Like we trust 'em or something.

Excellent observation.

Why would any one with half a brain admit if this nut attended their stinking mosque.

Everyone knows that it is permissible for Muslims to lie, cheat or steal from infidel Christians.

Depends on who is writing the History, or how big of a whole the MSM can dig to bury the stuff.

It sucks that thanks to the bias/stupidity of the MSM, there is no centralized authority from which we can get information about happenings like this. We do get some data from Free Republic and the bloggers, but we need some mechanism to verify the information. Once that is in place things will be better, I hope.

Inherently, people should perceive the unfounded news broadcasts as the liars, but that doesn’t always happen

Mary Mapes and Dan Rather are appalled.

I would like to know if it can be verified that Hinrichs attempted to gain entry to the stadium. That by itself would make this event seem less like a suicide and more like an act of terror or terror/suicide.

Trying to buy the bomb making material is another fact that casts doubt on the suicide angle.

The media is not reporting this because they have been 'asked' not too. It seems pretty obvious that even a spectacular suicide at a college game would get on a major news outlet even wihtout a terror angle, so the fact this one completely vanished aside from one locally owned media company is telling.

For thse who do not live IN that area of oklahoma, if it were not for the internet they would NEVER know this happened. As far as we would know, it never happened, non-event, did not occur nor was alleged, etc.

Some people talk about bias being a reason, but I have yet to see an explanation of why the bias of foxnews, the washington times, wsj, etc., is in favor of holding back this story.

Yeah I think you are right. But how can the government possibly enforce such a media blackout, especially against such competitive organizations? You'd think at least one of them would want to get the story out, in order to see their ratings shoot up. Really weird.

I am sure one or more of them do. TMy theory is that an agency (en ess ayy?, hsc?) and the media have an arragement about the initial reporting of an event, particularly if it is a controllable enviroment. There was a piece about a recent bilderberg conference in which media heads present said they wanted to work with government, understanding that the initial reporting of an incident was critical.

Ask yourself a hypothetical question - if on 9/11, only one plane was hijacked and it crashed into the wtc, what do you think we would have been told? Another suidical pilot?

The fact that a major news network can try to unseat a president with forged documents with impunity, yet this item was uniformly buried by all tell me the process by which this news is vetted/suppressed is separate from the entire political wing of the media.

What are those?

"Ask yourself a hypothetical question - if on 9/11, only one plane was hijacked and it crashed into the wtc, what do you think we would have been told? Another suidical pilot?"

You absolutely correct. That's exactly the story told about Egypt Air, remember? And TWA 800 wasn't really hit by a missile? And remember the plane crashes (in the Bronx?) after 9/11?

Mu husband has done a lot of research on airplanes to help him get over his anxiety over flying. What he's found is that these planes are nearly impossible to crash; even if your engines stop working you can glide for hundreds of miles.

From my own personal experience of flying planes in Grand Theft Auto, I've found it is extremely difficult to hit a target like a building while flying a big fat jet. :D

hsc is homeland security

the other is national security ag.

you are correct on flight 800, with the immediate reports of a missile quietly dropped, and the flight 587 and the egypt air plane. Another one, not terror-related but a good example of a complete blackout of a spectacularly newsworthy story, is the phoenix lights.

John Kasich just did a segment on this on Heartland (just a few minutes ago). Of course he had a Congressman (Cole) from OK and the brother of the kid who blew himself up. Neither thought there was anything to it other than a (lets say it altogether!) *troubled young man*.
I thought Mr. Kasich did a terrible job with the interview, asked stupid softball questions, and then made the STUPID observation tht he wanted to bring them on to put the story to bed. What story?? The one the media has ignored? How do you put a story to bed that you never really covered?
He did insinuate that the *bloggers* had created this story....

I just shake my head.

Apparently this was a propaganda piece. The fact this kid's family is still doing the talk show circuit says more than I can in this post.

You can bet money everyone in the media is aware of this story, that might be the 'put to bed' target audience.
