Great tribute to both men. I cannot imagine the world without my own father in it. I treasure him so much and would be devastated to lose him. I know it is a part of life, but certainly one of the worst. I am so sorry the time came for you.

I agree with your assessment of Rush. He is truly a national treasure. Of all the people in the world, he's the one I'd most like to have dinner with. On the patio because of the cigar smoke. LOL.

Yup, I have been a big fan of Rushbo when he was right here in Sacratomato! He was more outrageous then. I guess you have to tone down a little when you go national.

Oh well, here goes.

Rush would announce a new "Senator Kennedy Update." Then you would hear this water sound: a loud gurgling, gulp, gulp, gulp gurgling sound. Then El Rushbo would say in a very serious voice: "Those were the last human sounds of Mary Jo Kopechne." Then he would reveal the latest sanctimonious idiocy of Senator Kennedy.

When I first heard that I got chills. It was very edgy and raw way of portraying Senator Kennedy as the biggest hypocrit in the country. Over time the gurgling sound became known as the "gurgling cod."

I first heard Rush when he broadcast from Sacramento. I was so stunned to hear his conservative views, I could hardly wait for the next day's broadcast. Since then, he has been a mentor of conservatism and I am delighted he is now such a success.

I discovered Rush way back when I was a high school socialist and he still had a TV show. I tried to resist, but eventually came to see that he was right on many issues. The school of life eventually brought me full circle to the "right."

Amen to this and thanks for reading, Clemenza. I really appreciate it.
