surface readings point to rapid melting in some areas, particularly in the Arctic Ocean

You know the global warming remark had to be in there.

Can't have evidence of the polar UFO bases or the entrances to the Hollow Earth. The satellite had to be destroyed.

The satellite carries a sophisticated radar altimeter that will measure the height and angle of ice surfaces with unprecedented precision.

For some reason, I think it is not just ice they are looking for. I don't know why I don't trust them.........well maybe....I do know. Sounds like ground penetrating radar. Looking for Ice in North America.......LOL....

I blame belly girl.

Or space aliens. They're always up to something in Antarctica. (X-Files, Stargate, ...)

They had clapped and cheered as the rocket cleared the dense forest around the launch pad and headed into orbit.

Hard to put the corks back in those empty champagne bottles.

The rocket, which in the Cold War would have been armed with nuclear weapons, has been modified for peaceful space duties.

Once a nuke always a nuke.

These are relatively low-cost projects that seek quick answers to some important environmental questions.

Says a lot about their agenda. Spare a dime to come up with quick answers. Sure makes me want to believe their data. NOT!

This is obviously Bush's fault. If he had signed Kyoto, this never would of happened.

MOSCOW - A European Space Agency satellite has broken up in flight and its remnants have crashed into the ocean, a Russian space agency official said Saturday.

"The remnants of the satellite have fallen into the northern Arctic Sea," Vyacheslav Davydenko, a spokesman for the Russian Federal Space Agency, told The Associated Press. "The booster unit did not switch on and it resulted in the failure of the satellite to reach orbit," he said. Engineers lost contact with the Russian rocket carrying the ESA's CryoSat satellite some two hours after it blasted off from Russia's northern Plesetsk launch facility.

Vikor Remichevsky, deputy director of the Russian Federal Space Agency, was quoted as saying by the ITAR-Tass news agency, that there had been "a failure of the navigation system."

The satellite was launched aboard a converted intercontinental ballistic missile at about 7:02 p.m. (1502GMT).

The satellite was slated to spend three years surveying polar ice, using radar altimeters to assess the miles-thick ice sheets that cover Greenland and the Antarctic land mass and the comparatively thin sea ice in the polar regions.

I anxiously await receiving no more detailed reports from the Eurofags on global warming.

I hate to see a satellite go bad, but in this case I will make an exception. They are better off spending their resources on teaching their populations farsi than trying to destroy the global economy.

>> Hollow Earth. The satellite had to be destroyed.

Are you a Madame Blavatsky (Helena Petrovna Hahn. 1831-1891) reader...?

She and Darwin created the intellectual base for the third reich. Some are still looking for the hollow earth hole, and Atlantis too. May they waste their lives in the pursuit of folly rather than the destruction of civilizations.
