We are all in this war

I doubt if many of our fellow Americans think that way. If they did the Presidents poll numbers would be around 90%.

Most just put their head in the sand UNTIL something horrific happens then look to the sky for chickens falling....then shout it is Bush's fault!!

I was trying to work around the "http://" requiremnt to post what my wife had just told me on the phone and I typed the first URL that I could think of!

I had no idea that what I typed would link to a porn site.

My apologies to the mods - they were right again.

I just got off the phone with my brother, the doctor, who was pulling up into the parking lot of the Sunrise Hospital - this is all news to him.

Is it Payday at NELLIS?...

Ahhh...payday at Nellis. I remember those days. I remember Broke Night at Millie's Sky Club (or Sky Dive as we called it). And payday Friday at Kracker's. Actually, I don't remember much about payday Fridays at Kracker's for some reason. I remember going there...but not much after that.

Here's an interesting article from a few years back...

U.S. didn't warn Las Vegas of terror threats

WASHINGTON (AP) — A year after the Sept. 11 attacks, the Justice Department obtained video surveillance tapes suggesting terrorists were targeting Las Vegas casinos but authorities never alerted the public as they discussed whether a warning might hurt tourism or increase the casinos' legal liability, internal memos show.

No thank you for your stunning insight into the minds of illiterate fools and their fixation with numerology.

Not only that but it is a proven fact that Mohammed Atta stayed in a Las Vegas hotel shortly before 9/11.

If I was a terrorist I would not hit any of those places. I would whack Chicago simply because the populace is unarmed and helpless and the police are not known for their skills.

Or any mid-sized city. Most of the attention, efforts and money is concentrated on the Big Targets – NY, LA, DC. The rest of the country is pretty complacent. While hits on minor targets would not cause immediate and immense economic damage, and the casualties might not be as high – the impact on the rest of the nation would be dramatic. “If the terrorists hit Wichita, they may hit here”. Every small city in the USA would be campaigning for additional help, drawing resources away from the leading targets. Of course, the whole idea of the terror attack is to grab international headlines – and not too many potential Jihadists recruits would be impressed, or even know Wichita exists.
Note: Wichita picked at random.

I remember shortly after 9/11 there was supposedly an attack planned by AlQueda on a small town down south of about 1500 people or so. Apparently the thought was to cause fear by showing that nowhere in the US was safe because the town was picked entirely at random. Does anyone else remember that? There's no method to their madness.

Well at least they are not headed for Florida. Have you seen how those people drive? That in itself brings terror to the hearts of mortal men.

October 7 is the anniversary of the Achille Lauro highjacking and I am sure it is one of those very special days that Muslums observe because Mohammed went to the bathroom.

Great, my hubby and I are going there on Sunday for a couple of days R&R...... My kids are in Manila right now on a vacation trip, and the Phillipines are on a heightened alert. They were also in Indonesia a couple of days before the recent bombings..... Talk about living under a cloud!
