Glad to see you, Billie.
Yes, doing some estimating for additions, just got one for $7000 and a preliminary approval of a huge addition for $70,000 plus.
The small one we start next week, the big one hopefully within the month.
Thanks!
Wow! Congratulations, Mayor. I'm proud of you.
Oh yes, every once in a while I feel a pain but all I see is just a spot where the nail went it.
Thank you, it's been tough catching up after the primary fight.
I imagine so, but things should get better now.
Yes, that is our hope and prayer.
My prayers are with you and your family.
Her degree is in Biology, and last week she attended a Job Fair in Columbia.
The lady doing the *critical sorting* of applications, encouraged her, asking her to slightly alter her resume " like so" - - strongly adding to Aubrey the fact, "While I cannot choose the ones selected, I am the one who steers them to the top of the stack..:))"
The position is as a Criminalist with SLED for the state, right in Columbia where she lives. Very high starting salary, too.
Aubrey has been on her own since the day after her high school graduation, when "home" moved 75 miles away.
Her Dad in California has helped her with apartment rent/books, etc., but Aubrey has worked since she was 15 - often with 2 jobs, working her way through college.
Much of that was restaurant work, often being made Assistant Manager - always very responsible, and good with persons.
Her initial interest was to become a Pharmacist, but when she worked at a hospital as a Pharm Tech for nearly a year, it was enough to make her realize without real patient contact, it was boring and not at all challenging.
Adjusted her direction, and is almost reaching her goal.
She did not date a great deal during college, always working and highly selective, but in the past several months has been dating someone she's known since her teen years.
He is the older brother of a good (boy) friend in school - had a crush on him, but he of course wasn't interested then.
Different story now that she has blossomed, and is lovely and capable and well grounded! Very focused and versatile.
Oh, yes - she has been brainwashed by her grandparents and parents
to be a Christian, very conservative lady..:))
Thank you Victoria.
Excellent M. She has had a great teacher in her Grand mother..
Aubrey sounds lovely in every way. I shall look forward to hearing more of her and how this job opportunity works out.
And tell me now, you have two granddaughters and how many grandsons? (One, I remember, who was battling a tough infection a while back. I trust he is better?)
Thank you for remembering Christopher, now 17, who a year ago was battling that severe infection, and lost down to 112 lbs.
The illness was no problem academically, since he and Nickolas (13) both have always attended a Christian school in West Palm Beach. His teachers sent his assignments to do at home, for Kevin and Susan to monitor.
He's rather shy because he is shorter than his classmates; but Kevin was the same way! We moved to another town between Kevin's junior and senior years in high school, and in that year gained 6" in height.
Kevin and Susan teach teen classes in their Sunday school, and Chris sings in the choir, and this Sunday will be singing a duet.
That's a real milestone, and the result of this year auditioning for a famous opera teacher in WPB, who selects very few students. She accepted Chris, and is bringing him around!
He will be graduating from hs a year early, and going to a Community College his first year or two to better mature, near his parents.
The best news is they will be here around Christmas, every other year going up to Gatlinburg (hopefully) for a snow holiday.
Just got word that electricity is getting close to my street! Hope I can be home by next weekend--or soon.
Where are you staying?
I hope you can be home soon too. How much damage to your place?
Oh, lonestar, that is such good news!
Know you have to be weary of living out of a suitcase, even if it is with your brother.
[I suspect Weinie pulled a string or two for you..:))]
Now a lot of cleanup!
God Bless!
I wish I was closer to come and fix your house.
I would imagine there would be a ton of work if I came down.
I might consider it if there is no one around and it takes to much time to get someone.
Are you in contact with people in your area, anyway let me know how things go.
That's okay. It's understandable. ;-)
