"WOULD YOU WANT TO GO TO WAR WITH THE 55 GOP SENATORS AS YOUR ARMY" This is the question we should be asking, not "how is HM going to vote in 10 years" No one but God knows what he will do in the future.
NO; we have to get 60 votes. Thanx to the GANG.
Very funny.
But so is Miers, stating her favorite Justice is judicial activist Warren...Sen. Leahy attempted to save her....oh, yes, I meant Warren Burger, who voted for RoeWade.
(circus music playing)
"of late"? They are still burning the oil, ragin for a cagin'. IMHO, of course. ;>
I also believe GWB is a student of Sun-Tzu (sp.) Seems so many on our side are gung-ho on the tactical aspect of battle, but oblivious to a strategic plan. This does play into your comments. I think over time, many will eventually reallize GWB is quite sharp on waging a strategic war, be it foreign or domestic. Carry on.
Good post. You're honest about your negative reaction to Miers. Wish more here would follow your example.
I really wanted an opportunity for 'us dopes out here in flyover country' to scare the crap out of the 7 wusses in the Senate.
Instead, they call the shots once again, and so are more deeply entrenched.
Nope. Didn't happen. It was misreported (surprise, surprise) by WaPo.
Yes, I understand. I was rooting hard for JRB and wanted to see some blood shed as well. Didn't know what to make of Miers at first.
I've since learned things about her that make me believe she'll be a fine addition to the court.
Time will tell, though.
What angers me from the right are the people who completely ignore anything positive that comes out about about her and eagerly repeat negative reports which have already been debunked, just as some of them did with Roberts, seemingly because it goes against their dug-in position, and then state confidently that she's totally unqualified. Well, based on what? They don't know if she's qualified or not. You know, if they want to complain, they can legitimately complain about that lack of knowledge, but that's not enough for them.
