If anything the fertilizer shows that he wasn't completely focused on the TATP form of bombing

Well, fertilizer and fuel oil needs a "detonator", it's a little hard to set off, and TATP would probably do the job.

What is the IRG?

Sort of Saddam's equivalent to the Waffen SS of Hitler. Made up of guys from Saddam's home region around Tikrit, they got the best equipment, training, and other amenities, that the draftees of the Regular Iraqi army did not get.

NYC Update:

http://www.nypost.com/news/nationalnews/53446.htm

The tip that triggered the massive security sweep came from two al Qaeda militants arrested this week in a joint FBI-CIA-U.S. military raid outside Baghdad, law-enforcement sources told The Post.

The terrorists were described as unemployed chemists who had recently taken a six-week explosive training course in Afghanistan.

The al Qaeda snitches also told U.S. officials that they planned to travel to New York, by way of Syria, with bogus passports.

Once here, they would meet up with 19 operatives who had already been sent to New York to help set off the bombs, the sources said.

The bombs would either be hidden in baby carriages or planted in briefcases similar to those used in this summer's London bus and train bombings.

Not to leave our readership in the dark, it's worth noting that a lot of folks want a piece of Luis as an ancestor. Consequently there's been a lot of work done on him and others with his surname.

Still, there's a Portuguese version that spells it CARVALHO, and that's rarely researched and the more modern spelling found frequently in Mexico is CARBOHAL.

A priest named Luis Carvajal was the first European to explore the Amazon and another Carvajal discovered Puerto Rico. A Carvajal founded the Portuguese colony in Labrador (which was gone by 1535). Les Carbo founded St. Sauveur. Carvajals were the first men known to travel all the way around the world. A Carvajal became the King of Portugual and rebuilt Lisbon after the Great Earthquake. The French Kings regularly awarded the Order of Carvajal, represented by an enormous red bull (a masculinized red heifer maybe?) to various favorites.

These guys were everywhere, did everything, and kicked butts and took names all the time!

Yeah, I'm reminded of the "Border Patrol" scene in Men In Black, where the (space) aliens are trying to blend in as Mexicans! LOL!

Finally, Monica Crowley and Ron Reagan (Connected Coast to Coast) are covering this story on MSNBC, admitting it has not been covered by the MSM. Their producer is saying the FBI still has no evidence that this guy was connected to any know terrorist organizations. I guess, end of story for the time being - MSNBCwise.

Agreed. I guess they really DO think we are all to stupid to notice such obvious displays of coordination.

What ever happened "scooping" the competition? OH, never mind, liberalism happened. My bad.
