I agree. I, however, believe that if the law is followed, and the state Governors can be properly trained and coordinated in terms of an integrated plan for dealing with this, we don't have to throw posse comitatus out the window.

Making all of this a federal production is too tempting a sympathetic grab for power.

No, no and no. Then again, just to get in the spirit of things, lets revoke the Posse Comitatus in the case of an increase in paper cuts in a certain area. In fact, lets just have the military patrol the streets to keep us all safe and snuggly.

First off improve surveillance for disease outside of the USA, second get more stock of anti-viral drugs as part of the national public health system, third there is only 1 manufacturer of vaccines in the USA this needs to be increased, fourth get the CDC working on a action plan that the medical types who know about virology/microbiology & all the rest of the various medical fields that would be useful for fighting disease.
This is not a put down of the armed forces but in this case the President is suffering from the syndrome of having only a hammer as a tool then all of a sudden all your problems start to look like nails.
