This is what I posted on a post about the earlier speculation that he might name a successor:
"Seems pretty obvious that it's going to be Junior, unless of course the Chinese are behind this."
Since it was Junior, I'm assuming that the Chinese did not engineer this.

"He is such an enthusiastic fan of the U.S. basketball"
So will nut case Junior drive through the countryside in a tricked out Escalade, wear gold chains and listen to rap?

NO KIDDING!!!
Let's just invite the guy over, let him hang out with Kobie, Lebron, and a few others - ride around in Hummer H2s with "dub-dub spinners", go to a few LA parties, get drunk, laid, etc.
Then, the kid goes back to North Korea with a few pairs of Nikes and a signed Shaq jersey, and he realizes "Geez, this eighteenth century "workers paradise" isn't so great after all".
In the meantime, we work with South Korea for an all out reunification plan - including some substantial US aid (cheaper than war, after all).
Of course, the kid may just be a figurehead like that little Indian prince pansy in "Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom" - with generals and elder "statesmen" calling all the shots.

In an apparent bid by Kim to reinforce the country's dynastic rule, he has purged Jang Song-Taek, his brother-in-law and closest aide...
But the Pyongyang regime has recently described Jang as a "tree" that is now cut off, a strong indication that he was officially removed from the power.
I'm curious on how to interpret the phrasing. Was Jang politely asked to retire from power to a nice country estate, or was he executed?
