I work in construction and have met my share of Hispanics (hey its Dallas) and once the guys bring their wives over then the flow of money back home drops a bunch. Every one of the guys I know has been in Texas for a couple of generations and that changes their outlook a lot.
Growing up in a farming community seasonal help was always flowing through town, mostly Hispanic. The rodeo was also a source of passer-throughs. The fellows progress from single and drunk, to single and rowdy, then dating and randy, then married and rowdy, to being decent folks once they have kids.
The lady's story as reported sounds incomplete, but the macho culture of Old Mexico or Central America could certainly produce a situation like this.
Thanks for the links. Did anyone notice that all 14 perps have been classified as "white" by the Sheriff's Dept? This is, of course, in keeping with FBI and DOJ policy, where all "hispanic" perps of violent crime are classified as "white." When counting victims, however, the FBI / DOJ breaks out "hispanic" as a separate category. Because of this lovely statistical trick, a NY Times-approved "journalist" can report the attack as follows if the victim happened to be "hispanic" (which is a possibility):

GW may have done some goofy things during his term but IMHO his refusal to secure our borders, especially after 9/11, is one of his biggest mistakes........
