Thank you for your kind thoughts Aquamarine. Much appreciated.
And then there is Harry Reid, Schumer, and Feinstein happy with the selection... I don't know what to think.
Agreed!
okay, call me stupid. How do I use the map. I clicked the link & was taken to California, I guess. (Is this a map of where you live?).. and there are demographics on other states. I like the map but sometimes am very obtuse & miss the original intent or somet little "thingie" that makes it gel.
Thanks Osey for your patience with me on this
You know what? Right now I'm not very happy. When I heard the news in the morning my first reaction was why? Why her? We know so little about her.
Since you were out this evening, you missed Bill O'Reilly having Dr. James Dobson on, Rus, asking his opinion of the nominee.
While he did not know her personally, he asked some of the members of the church (one which he knows well) she attends, and they enthusiastically vouched for her, to his satisfaction.
One thing to keep in mind is how thoroughly a Democratic state Texas used to be. Therefore her early advancement and history was within that context in order to make her way upward, and as she matured, she "saw the light..:)"
Lastly, your explanation for write-in voting for you looks crystal clear to me - good job!
Hi Temple:
I'm not going to pre-judge... But when codee was 11 we came home and she was vomiting and dehydrating. We took her to our vet who xray's and said it looked like cancer on the liver. He said if his choice we would spend the money at our Ohio State University Hospital. We took her there...they did two biopsies and it turned out a bleeding ulcer... reaction to the medicine she had been taking for arthritis. The total cost was $2,ooo BUT we had codee for three very comfortable more years. Guess my question to you... are YOU SURE this is a cancer thing???? IF so...hold this very special pet and love her. If she's young enough.....think about taking her to a university... all I can say is WOW with our dog.
We're feeling for you. Reliving the night we lost Codee...sigh.. Our pets are so much of our lives. Thanks for letting me be a part of INK's life.... Ilene
I know, look at what LadyX wrote above.
As much as I hate to say it, I feel very let down by Pres. Bush.
Not just about this, many reasons.
I guess what I am really bent out of shape about is the republicans in charge.
They are spineless and I have been saying that for years.
They worry more about what the libs think of them than representing us.
They spend like the libs, the pork is sickening yet all we get is requests for money.
They need to keep their control in the House and Senate so send money? For what?
I need money for my campaign, where are they? They are working against me.
All of them are corrupt and selfserving. They all are up to their necks with greed.
All consuming greed.

-------THE FINAL INSPECTION
The soldier stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, you soldier,
How shall I deal with you ?
Have you always turned the other cheek ?
To My Church have you been true?"
The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep...
Though I worked a lot of overtime,
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand.
There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
As the soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you soldier,
You've borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."
Good post by LadyX. You know what? The first time I felt let down was after GW's promise to spend tons of money rebuilding New Orleans. I thought however... well, what else can he do. Now, I feel he's catering to the Liberals and I don't like that feeling. Maybe she'll turn out to be a great conservative judge, who knows - but right now, it's not a great feeling.
and I am in agreement with you. Only time will tell, wait and watch is all we can do. It is frustrating I know, I really feel the way you do Victoria.
Yeah :-(
To snap at and bite the hand of the side that might better feed you and yours is not the answer.
Think of the terrible challenges and handicaps of the original framers of our Republic! They had to contend with persons earnestly wanting to remain attached to the King of England and his favors for them. They pressed on, however, and developed the concept that has revolutionized mankind, and given hope for a better life.
Need I remind you of the ghastly Whitewater Years under Bill and Hillary?!
When they openly loathed and dismantled the military - sought universal health care - approved of abortion and - and - and....??
Don't throw out the baby with the dirty bath water. Keep sponging the baby off, and guiding it as best you can.
Oh gosh, LadyX, I feel like crying right now. You know the feeling, I can't help it.
He spoke from his position as head of the Executive branch, wanting to restore a broken "limb."
He is VERY aware HE cannot authorize one dime for that! - but The Congress must cough up the $$$, if it is the will of America to rebuild the historic city "as it was."
Don't you suppose he foresees a "major adjustment' in their thinking, when they reallize the impossbility of making it a shining city on a higher hill?
They will have to make it a different kind of city, and the $$$ for that sacrificed through their exorbitant pork spending!
The President is above the process, and cannot be damaged - the 'failure,' if there is one, will be the work of the House and Senate.
Indeed, you're right, LadyX.
My prayers always are for the President and our leaders, and I add a fervent one for the "NEXT" President -- trusting God to nudge the "right one" into the traces....:)
Good night, LadyX. It was nice talking with you tonight.
