Do you have a link to that tid bit of info as to phantom cops? I keep reading about it, but still have not confirmed.

Caught a local NO TV reporter type on CNN, he said practically no one but business people are returning.

If NO had all the poverty MSM rants about, most have probably decided, hell, free housing and a welfare check is home, no matter where that home is.

Plus there's no schools or other services... most of the city needs to be bulldozed. I still say, repair the French quarter, garden and business districts and let Ponchartrain have the rest. We'd save a whole lot of money....

The hurricane was bad enough so it is perplexing why Nagin has to embellish anything

Embellish? That is being too nice. Tell it like it is.
HE LIED!

Mayor Nagin’s recent actions raise real doubts about his ability to lead the City of New Orleans through the most challenging time in its history.

I haven't any doubt at all that this idiot is totally incapable of leading a city anywhere. He needs to be FULLY investigated for his part in the corruption of New Orleans.

How would you do a recall if your entire town is deployed outside of the city? Nagin is in a very safe position. He waits this out until November, and as people come in...he starts demanding the Feds pay for every single house and every single person. Focus on the Feds...and he can save his career.

If Ragin' Nagin were a white Republican the media would have made him into the biggest pariah in decades.

Instead this fool is not only still in office, but gets taken seriously by the media as he sticks his foot in his big mouth over and over again.

"The mayor of New Orleans has an interest in keeping his constituents dumb and paranoid so they will continue to vote for him."

You just summed up the platform, (though, of course, not the PUBLIC version), of the DNC.

If Mayor Nagin has moved to Texas, how can he still be the Mayor of N.O. or even run to be re-elected?

I'm curious if but what Nagin already HAS been meeting with Farakhan, as in, if Nagin's involved with him otherwise. So, "at this critical time," Nagin in need of advice, counsel...he turns to...existing counsellor, Farakhan. Seems the most reasonable explanation.

Go to this Google search results page. Among the results are links to threads here on FR. I believe it was Tony Snow who first broke the story.

All the trails seem to lead to someone who heard it on the TS show, FR & Lucy, but still no solid link whereas Tony said it. Would be nice to see transcripts of the show or an audio. I am spooked to spread the word without solid proof he said it.

"Today's report is that most neighborhoods still have no potable water, and nearly none have sewer service"

This is what disturbs me most. Focus seems to have totally shifted to the blame game and meanwhile there is so much work to be done. I fear that this constant search for guilty parties will cause those who are really trying to accomplish something to hesitate because of the specter of becoming another "guilty party". If I were in charge of actually paying out government $$$ to get things fixed I'd be scared to death, I would know my reputation will be damaged by either the Dems or the Repubs or the MSM, I know there is no way I can get a valid legal opinion of what is legitimate, meanwhile I have all these poor people (and when I say poor I'm talking about all, business owners, people who lost homes, people whose jobs have been lost, etc) who desperately need help. It must be an absolute nightmare to try to bring order and help while the politicos, most ably assisted by the MSM, play the blame game.

What, good ol' hearsay's not good enough for ya? :^)

I know what you mean. I don't have cable TV so do you happen to know if Tony Snow is on the Fox News cable channel?

Michelle Malkin's September archives

Related: Fox News radio/tv host Tony Snow has been investigating reports of ghost cops on the N.O. payroll. More details here.

Here's audio of Tony's report.

If you feel like looking through it, here's the search results for "Tony Snow" +transcript +"New Orleans" +FBI (That's where I found Malkin's page about it.)

Oh I agree. MSM will being going for throats. In addition, no one is really talking about the continued danger to returnees of cholera, e coli, and other diseases and contaminants as Nagin insists people return to an area not equipped to handle their return.
