Bunch of them work here. Thought we were going to have to have a company slumber party last night. Some took as long as three hours to get home.

It was a good one, though. Villerosa shows up in Moorpark, deep in red county country, next to the Reagan library, and he might feel... well... unwelcomed.

Bush hates California white people. I don't want to see dime of federal monies spent rebuilding these burnt out areas. What kind of idiots would rebuild in a tinderbox. These people must all be sinners to be suffering God's wrath so, after all, he is sending fires to purge them from the land. /end of parody statements

Hey ZGuy,

How's Simi doing now? I have a dozen relatives that live there.

If it burned the 100+ miles from Chatsworth to Santa Maria, that would be really bad news. I figure SM is at least a day or two from mandatory evacuations

So far as I recall, the Los Angeles firemen in LA and TX are mostly search and rescue folks who are usually out of town for some disaster or another, as well as command staff for swiftwater rescue. Neither group would make much difference fighting fires.

Did our contract end for the super scooper or are they being held in reserve for some other fire?

If you could freepmail me their addresses I could tell you exactly what their situation is. In general, the only structures in danger now are those at the extreme south edges of town. Wood Ranch Elementary school has now been evacuated. If they live in Wood Ranch they may have a bit of an adventure on their hands. If they live anywhere else they shouldn't be in any danger. They're just like the rest of us -- watching the flames and smoke hour by hour. The freeways are all open right now, but that is always subject to change.
