One less problem for NOLA to deal with.
I hate to ask what direction this could be...
Sally Forman, a spokeswoman for the mayor, said it is not clear whether the deserters can be fired. She said the city is still looking into the civil service regulations.
Where I come from, not showing up for work is taken as a sign that you don't want the job. But maybe that's just we folk in unenlighted areas of the nation.
He should be stripped of his bloated pension. Could be over 80% of his salary.
My guess is he will be hired out here in California...
Can you hear the interview -- well, you guys don't have hurricanes.
Now that there's no one left in New Orleans to extort payoffs from the corrupt cops are jumping ship.
Guess they'll have to move to Chicago.
When this is revealed, Compass would have to resign anyway.
**** "I'll be going on in another direction that God has for me." *****
Probably to jail if the Rumor that 450 paychecks were issued without anyone belonging to them turns out to be true.
You can run but you cant hide .
Tony Snow broke a scandla this AM on his show, which is on the Tony Snow Show thread, that at least 400 of the NOLA cops existed only on paper.

Gosh I hope it's the same guy. And I hope he gets prosecuted like he ought to.
"It's a sad day in the city of New Orleans when a hero makes a decision like this," Nagin said"
LOL!
"I think the fact that we did not lose control of the city is a testament to his leadership."
I guess roving bands of mauraders and looters are what passes for 'control' in New Orleans.
One down and two to go.
"It's a sad day in the city of New Orleans when a hero makes a decision like this," Nagin said. "He leaves the department in pretty good shape and with a significant amount of leadership."
Absolutely astonishing.
Combine this with the information from Tony Snow today regarding the fact that the missing police may never existed in the first place...and I think we may have a big story about to go national.
Perhaps a "quit before you get fired." Or perhaps a quit before you're indicted, considering it is LA.
Guess he didn't like the NRA on his ass...
Louisiana - Half under water, half under indictment.
26 years?
And one of, if not the most corrupt PD in America.
yeaaa Chief, ya gotta lot to be proud of. LMAO
