I see what you're talking about. We're supposed to receive some type of cool front from Canada by the weekend hopefully that will deter any additional storms. I haven't started clearing the tree debris from my backyard yet. I'm putting that off for the weekend for sure now.
The second time?
Were you in Rita's path girlscout?
Did Bastardi get ANYTHING right about this hurricane? Anything at all?? Well, other than the fact that it was, indeed, a hurricane...
No. Rita was with me last night.
I live in Seabrook which is in-between Houston and Galveston on Galveston Bay. Minimal damage here with just some trees down and loss of power. The really painful part was the loonnnggggg evacuation. I hope I never have to experience that again as long as I live.
Will it send seamen flying everywhere???
If something else forms in the Gulf, it will be something else. Not saying that Rita wouldn't have contributed to it in some way, but it's not part of the same storm.
Actually, it was in Indiana yesteday .. .NNE at 30Mph would put it well out of the range of the gulf by today.
I haven't been keeping track but my son has.
He told me several days ago the Joe Bastardi of Accuweather predicted that the moist would be stripped from Rita and head NE.
The low would likely head south into the Gulf and possibly reform.
Joe does it again.
( I heard him telling folks to keep watch on the Gulf and East coast next week also)
What used to be Rita is over land. What is forming now are new storms, I believe.
No RITA is done.
The remnants of that storm are way up in the Canadian Maritimes right now....
These are new storms which hopefully will not form.
Yes, hurricane Rita is being reformed (along with Social Security, Healthcare and Welfare) by people's courageous hard working elected representatives,

If you ever have to evacuate again, you should consider going west to Bay City and taking 60 North. Just follow the grass trucks to Fort Worth.
