Yes.
Sometimes it is just.. they just leave it out there swinging in the breeze by its lonesome little self.

Try giving her something of yours (like a shirt that you have worn recently) when you leave. Also sometimes a TV left on or a radio helps. If all else fails try to take her with you as much as you can, or your vet can prescribe a sedative if she is really frantic. Thanks, I am pretty much doing all that but the shirt thing already. Those sedatives work great, I only wish I knew about them years ago. I used to feel so bad when he would start panting. If anyone else out there has a dog that has storm anxiety just ask your vet for some pills.

I'll have to dig up all my odd factoids and such.
Like the molasses tidal wave death.
*chuckle*
We probably shouldn't, as we'll get hammered for it being as we know the ropes here.
But we can dream!

Same here.
Of course, the flipside is being torched on a subject you do know something about and the person flaming you hasn't a clue.
Worst case is when you prove they don't have a clue, and they keep flaming you anyway.

I was going to reply.....but nah your not worth it.
HAS ANYONE NOTICED THIS PART OF THE ARTICLE????
~~~~City of Independence spokesperson Irene Baltrusaitis said the shelter believes Nevills is not the woman who spoke with Wyrick because she differs in body type and description. Nevertheless, at some point Nevills took possession of the dog. After Wyrick found a permanent residence, he approached Nevills about recovering his pet of 14 years.~~~~~~
Nevills was not the one that he talked to at the shelter!!!
Humans come first. If they don't in your book, you need a new book, cutie-pie.
I've had that repeatedly on these threads.
[surely you recall the gal who said all the NO dogs had "gone feral" in a mere 2 weeks and were attacking people?...whatta wack job she was]
At that point, I simply disengage because I refuse to fight a battle of wits with an unarmed poster.
Here's good news from the other thread;
Hello everyone. This was cross posted on another website to which I belong. I have emailed the news station, HSUS and will send one to the Independence shelter.
As someone with paralegal training I can tell you that a contract is void under various circumstances. One of those circumstances signing a contract under duress which apparently is what this poor man did. If he went to court the chances are very good he would win his dog back from the heartless woman who took advantage of him.
Also it appears that it wasn't an apartment that denied him permission to keep his dog with him, it was his own relatives for whatever reasons didn't want to take the dog in forcing him to surrender Shuma. I hope they fight with him for the return of the dog.
The fact that he trained the dog as a service dog rather than a professional having done it shouldn't make the dog any less a service dog.
This awful woman is teaching her children it's okay to lie and cheat and steal along with breaking an already pretty emotional broken human being. Sadly they will probably grow up to be the type of uncaring selfish person she is.
This whole sad story may also cause people to mistrust animal shelters; espcially in times of crisis such as hurricane Katrina.
I'm lucky in not having to deal with seperation anxiety since our dogs are or are in training to be service dogs so they go with us absolutley everywhere.
Thank goodness...I felt really geographically goofy for a minute, there...LOL!
[looked like Paris, I thought]
I don't think I could sit through it again.
"Where The Red Fern Grows" [and the sequel] were some of the first DVDs I ever bought.
I watched them once and gave them to my dad with orders to -never- return them....:))
