From the Yahoo FAQs.
As long as you keep your subscription up to date, all your subscription music is there, to listen to, share, export, mix, etc. If your subscription lapses, you no longer have access to the songs, but your collection isn't deleted it's stored, safe and sound, for when you'd like to come back. Any songs you purchased as burnable downloads remain yours and accessible, regardless of the subscription status.
I'm not bashing the subscription model. It is a lot cheaper if you want access to a big music catalogue.
For those who are contemplating buying an iPod (any iPod model except the shuffle - which has no screen), do yourself a favor and invest in a quality case.
I've had my 40gig iPod for over a year now and the screen is still flawless. That's because I don't take it anywhere without it's leather case (with plastic shield that goes over the screen). I also never put it in my pocket. I keep it on a belt clip where I know where it is at all times. When I'm not using it, it stays either in my car's glove compartment or in my laptop case.
I see a lot of novices buying iPods and then not protecting them. Naturally, they are going to get them scuffed up in no time at all.
