Order of the Phoenix seemed to go very strongly against the liberal anti-gun message.
And that is the beauty on it. If they had shut up it would have gotten not as much publicity. : )))
Oh, I love that book. My children loved it as well. It's still on our bookshelf. (along with every other book we have ever owned. It's so hard to get rid of a book, isn't it? They are like good friends.)
Money talks. Publishers will smell the profits and more books like these will be published. Even getting close to Potter is amazing considering the lack of publicity (except for Rush - woo hoo) this book received.

Well there's the rub. It did not even get close to Potter. NO book this year got "close" to Potter. Potter sold a couple of MILLION books this year on the FIRST DAY. I doubt this book had a run of 100,000. If it is hot it may get 100,000 or 200,000 more printed. But getting close to Potter is publisher hype.

lol! Thank God for the free market so parents can decide for themselves whether to "warp" the kiddies' minds. BTW, you must not be a parent, otherwise you'd know that all of our children are being brainwashed to believe in every liberal political idea from the time they enter pre-school. Therefore, a book like this just provides them with a simple means to educate them properly about Capitalism and Progress.
My Dad has about 20 various bibles throughout the house.
I was talking about my personal Bibles. Around the house we probably have at least 15 copies, in at least 6 different English translations and a one in Spanish and also my Grandfathers in German.
It is, now. Originally, it was about a group of clever soldiers pulling one over on selfish people.
I wrote a paper comparing several versions of Stone Soup for a Children's Lit class. The prof was startled by the "newer" endings.
