Yet another political hack appointee. Wasn't the Mike Brown disaster enough for the Bush admin. Watch the Dims start their "holier than thou" attitudes now.....

Yet another political hack appointee. Well what do you expect?
It's another one of those "jobs that Americans don't want to do."

Window dressing for an impotent bureaucracy, and when it comes to immigration that is just the way the politicians want their bureaucracy.

The hack-o-rama continues. After a nationwide search for the best person for the job, we found one---right here in our own backyard!

President's failure to appoint ENFORCERS to national security positions says everything

I find it hard to believe that a 36 year old has anywhere close to enough experience to run Immigrations. Since much of the military is "forward deployed", the border patrol is the last line of defense of the country. If you want to give her a patronage job, pick some undersecretary position in the Department of Interior.
You might as well give the job to Juan Perez who just graduated from Tijuana Junior College.

I don't see anything at all that would indicate whether she would pursue tough immigration control.

President's failure to appoint ENFORCERS to national security positions says everything The President is "stuck on stupid" when it comes to the border. Hmmm, maybe General Honore wants the job.

Hmmm....another example of the seriousness with which the current administration takes the immigration crisis.
This looks bad from almost any angle.

Thanks Bush. This is all we need.
To: Millee
I'm not worried about her youth or lack of experience. I worry about her commitment to do the job.
So far I haven't seen any commitment on the part of anyone in this administration, or any other, to take control of the border. That it can be done has been demonstrated already, by our friends in the Minuteman movement.
My take is that if she had any intention of sealing the border, she would not have been chosen for this job, and if she had a Road to Damascus moment, and suddenly decided to take control, she would be booted out of there.
I love Bush, and back him all the way when he's right. His immigration policy so far is wrong-headed and a failure. I agree with others. I'll believe we're serious when we appoint Tancredo or Malkin to head up the Immigration Service.

I agree with you. But they have to appoint somebody who know nothing about Immigration laws and has so many connections that it's not funny. With her, I see the immigration problem increasing ten-fold.
To: Millee
Why not Vicente Fox for the job? We'd get the same immigration/border results we've had since 9/11./no sarc
