Believe me, I don't defend this at all. Paul is a jackass when it comes to Iraq. That said, I'd still take one Ron Paul over 100 of your average GOP'ers, as he is one of the few voices left fighting for small government and individual liberty, something both parties have long forgotten about. As far as this former soldier is concerned, Paul is still a national treasure.
No, he's a national punk.
If you have 100 Ron Pauls you'd have to also say that you'd have 100 with his same views on national defense. Then we'd be in a world of deep doo-doo. Thankfully, most Americans are smarter than that.
This is one of the reasons why I have very little respect for ideologues.
BTW, I'm a former soldier as well (HHC 82d Soldier Support BN (ABN)).
HOOAH!
If you want a Google GMail account, FReepmail me.
They're going fast!
I must admit that is is extremely frustrating having someone I look up to such as Paul be SO right on domestic issues, while at the same time be SO wrong on the Iraq War.
There are some great Republicans who are not so ideological about foreign policy that are members of Paul's Republican Liberty Caucus. My congressman Scott Garrett(NJ) is a member, along with Jeff Flake and Mike Pence. I really feel as if these guys are the future of the GOP. Small-government and pro-individual liberty like Paul, but not dopes when it comes to Iraq.
Thanks for the ping!
All I have to say is ...... Bahahahaha!!!
Now I'll join the pack in saying, "She's running for President." There's no longer any doubt.
I think Cindy's brainwaves are seriously flawed. She believes she's so important that it doesn't matter who the heck she's talking too. The only thing about talking with/about Hail Hillary vs. Pres Bush...he won't take her life away. Either literally or figuratively. Hillary will shut her down if it meets the Hill's needs.
Big For a Dinner Party, Small for a Demonstration
.....After a carefully stage-managed vigil by liberal PR firm Fenton Communications, and a pair of 3-week long national bus tours to drum up support for her cause, "Mother Sheehan" managed to bring with her just this tiny gaggle with her to the gates of the White House.
The organizers backing her show hope to draw "tens of thousands" of fellow protestors this weekend, but if this sad crowd and last night's turnout of just 150 in New York are any indication, the fledging anti-war movement of Cindy Sheehan is all but dead.
Here they are: Ms. Sheehan and her 28 lonely friends:

Thanks rdb3 for the great article - lots of links within.

Thank you for doing this, Hillary. Expect to regret this move during the general campaign in '08!
Let's stop depicting Cindy & Hillary as soul sisters. Can we as conservatives at least recall that Hillary never got anywhere by digging in her heels and declaring, "I'm not changing!! This is me! Take it or leave it!"
I refer only to her chameleon capacity for changing her public image. Now, do the math: Sheehan is a ranting has-been loser. Tomorrow's rally in D.C. will change nothing. Hillary is not going to allow her moving-to-the-center image to be fettered to a political corpse.
In other words, Mother Clinton will confront Mother Sheehan and ask quietly,
"Sweetie, have you ever heard of Fort Marcy Park? Well, have you, PUNK!?"
