1) Most have at least read Lockyer's "Official Title and Summary" for Prop 76
2) Some have perused the more involved analysis by the Legislative Analyst.
3) At least 5 have reviewed the "Arguments in Favor" and "Arguments Against" the Proposition but ..
4) Only two people have read the Text of the Proposed Law.
Which begs the question. Why are you sparing with an ignorance adversary? And don't say teaching. If they were interested in learning they would have done their homework before they came to the forum.
Well, forgive me if I spar. I do it when I see constant idiotic statements like "If you oppose Proposition 76, you aren't a conservative" or similar statements. I do it because I think that few people actually read the initiatives and some may be interested in the details (the devil is always in the details). I do it because I think many of those who make it through only the "Official Title and Summary" believe what is written there is true (when it is actually protected by free speech laws as opposed to 'truth in advertising' laws). I do it because I think maybe someone will actually read the whole thing, and learn, instead of listening to the party spin that is posted by party shills. And once engaged, I often do it to defend my statements from the truth-twisting some present. Do you have a better suggestion?
As far as a bet, I think there are actually 3 who have read it as of today.
Not necessarily a better suggestion but a constructive observation:
You are more effective when you educate (reply 52) and less so when you are enticed into replying to mindless baiting (reply 55).
There will always be partisan loyalists on this forum, who come with preconceptions that aren't alterable by fact or logic.
I don't expect to persuade the masses that Schwarzenegger is not a viable answer to California's social and fiscal problems. Neither do I expect to alter the opinion of a single partisan shill on this forum. I take no satisfaction in "I told you so". I do however hope to give these folks some restless nights as they ponder their active role in the inexorable expansion of government power in California. I can only hope they are plagued by their participation in Edmund Burke's lament: All that is necessary ... is that good men do nothing.
Like others I am dismayed that Schwarzenegger has exhibited a predictable pattern. Defer the responsibility of the liberal excesses of the Wilson, the Davis and his own administration to future generations.
Duly noted.

True. Party talking points do not allow for deviation.

One of my favorites, along with NormsRevenge's tagline:
"To remain silent when they should protest makes cowards of men."

Agreed. I am dismayed that some believe our fiscal situation is improved.
And I respect his endorsement, unlike the lefties and lofties.
