#1 - Allowing 3 million illegal aliens along with an unknown number of terrorists across the Souther Border each year is anything but "winning."

#2 - I have never attacked President Bush on his response to Katrina in terms of supporting the victims.

(I have however come out strongly against giving this (or any other) president dangerous broad powers to strip Americans of their Second, Fourteenth, and Fifteenth Amendment rights.)

Unless you're a Democrat, I never said you did.

I know the border is your only issue Happy, and even though I agree with you that the President has not done what needs to be done to deal with illegal immigration, I will never agree with you that a single issue negates the tremendous accomplishments of this President.

We ARE winning, Happy. You should try to live up to your name..... :)

"Turning the other cheek is getting old real quick!!"

I hope President Bush realizes he only has four of them.

Reality check.

Sorry - this is not winning . .

What can you do with 70,000 terrorists?
(click)

To date, some 1 million non-Mexicans have entered the U.S. through Mexico, of which about 700,000 have disappeared, according to a report in the Dallas Morning News.

No one knows how many might be terrorists, though rough estimates are that about 70,000 of those non-Mexicans are Saudis between the ages of 18 and 34.

Ponder that as you abhor racial profiling and replenish your stores of duct tape.

Is this a thread about Bill Clinton's attack on the President, or is it on illegal immigration?

One issue, Happy. ONE issue. It's a serious one, and I have been mildly encouraged by Michael Chertoff's statements addressing it as such, but it IS only one issue, and does not negate the rest of the President's record. (I've read all the arguments that it does, but I don't buy them, so don't bother saying that this is the only issue that matters).

As for the topic of this thread........does it please you when Bill Clinton bashes the President too? Is this a good thing, in your view?

==============================

When you hold hands with a strange dog - sometimes you will get bitten.

Bush has gotten bit so hard so many times now, I have quit counting.

Single issues have ruined not only political parties, but brought nations to their knees. Such is the case of the single issue of illegal alien immigration, September, 2005 as it impacts the entire nation.

For example, Bush has an incredible opportunity to clean house at the United Nations (Kofi's oil-4-food scandal). He's anemic and definitely not leading in that area nor the area of border control *or* Homeland Defense.

Either he just won't learn, relies too heavily on terrible advice, or he just doesn't give a damn. This is no time for games - this is time for serious and expedient action. We're not seeing it.

Uniting immigration agencies sought - two DHS agencies overlap, threaten national security

"It's very damning of the current structure and even more so of Chertoff's plan," the official said. "The examples of total breakdown are unbelievable."

I will address only the two lines in your post that address the issue of the thread.

President Bush is not 'holding hands' with Bill Clinton. He is using him to raise money (one of the only things he's successful at doing), to help the people in the Gulf region who have lost everything.

He knows exactly who Bill Clinton is, but he's obviously able to rise above petty revenge to accomplish the greater good.

We all can learn from him in this, Happy. Especially those of us who name the Name of Jesus Christ, and seek to follow His example.

One final comment and then I'm off this thread.

Every single one of you who have used this thread, and the vile Bill Clinton's comments to further your own bashing of President Bush are doing exactly what you accuse the President of doing.

You are holding hands with Bill Clinton in alliance against the President. You are seeking to damage his good name to further your own political agenda.

It is both ironic and disgusting that you would tie yourselves in spirit to such a hideous excuse of a human being........

Jesus Christ, I bow down to and worhisp His Excellency.

But no man. George Bush is a man in the position he is in now by the providence of God. So has every other president in the history of this nation.

Theodore Roosevelt
"The President is merely the most important among a large number of public servants. He should be supported or opposed exactly to the degree which is warranted by his good conduct or bad conduct, his efficiency or inefficiency in rendering loyal, able, and disinterested service to the Nation as a whole. Therefore it is absolutely necessary that there should be full liberty to tell the truth about his acts, and this means that it is exactly necessary to blame him when he does wrong as to praise him when he does right. Any other attitude in an American citizen is both base and servile. To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public. Nothing but the truth should be spoken about him or any one else. But it is even more important to tell the truth, pleasant or unpleasant, about him than about any one else."

"Roosevelt in the Kansas City Star", 149 May 7, 1918

"When James Lee Witt ran FEMA, because he had been both a local official and a federal official, he was always there early, and we always thought about that," Clinton said, referring to FEMA's head during his 1993-2001 presidency.

Slick, your boy Witt couldn't even handle Floyd, because they were so friggin' smart that they didn't plan on a contingency that a hurricane could cause widespread inland flooding. DUH!

Meanwhile, last year FEMA handled four, count 'em, FOUR hurricanes, each of which caused more damage than any storm your boys ever had to deal with. And Katrina was an order of MAGNITUDE more destructive than any previous US hurricane, including Andrew.

So your claims of superiority for FEMA under your command are as bogus as your testimony about Monica. And they both still blow.

FYI . .

Louisiana Officials Indicted Before Katrina Hit

Is it possible for one state's debt, corruption, and mismanagement to bankrupt an entire nation?

Senior officials in Louisiana's emergency planning agency already were awaiting trial over allegations stemming from a federal investigation into waste, mismanagement and missing funds when Hurricane Katrina struck

.

And federal auditors are still trying to track as much as $60 million in unaccounted for funds that were funneled to the state from the Federal Emergency Management Agency dating back to 1998.

In March, FEMA demanded that Louisiana repay $30.4 million to the federal government.

Don't twist what I said, Happy. I didn't say nor imply that anyone should bow down to any man. That is a deliberate distortion on your part of what I said.

The President is providing a good example of how a follower of Jesus Christ responds under false and malicious attacks. That is what I said. Don't twist it to suit your own distorted ideas.

Good day.

"Former US president Bill Clinton sharply criticized George W. Bush for the Iraq War and the handling of Hurricane Katrina.."

Why the hell Bush picked this jerk to "fund raise" for Hurricane Katrina in the first place is beyond me.

Its like hiring the wolves to watch the sheep.

Clinton is working for his wife - AND for Democrat Congressmen in 2006 - and Bush isn't using his head.

At the end of his Second Term, Bush will walk away leaving the Democrats in control of Congress and a Democrat in the White House because hasn't taken the kind of stand people want with border invaders, and because he's blown the budget over things like funding the New Orleans Debacle - as well as other pork issues that the Dems will use to slam any Republican running in 2008.

If Bush doesn't get another conservative nominated and appointed to the Supreme Court to replace O'Connor before 2006, the "Nuclear Option" to break filibusters will not be needed because the Dems will have the votes in congress to kill any of his appointees.

ohio is right; consider the TREMENDOUS things the President has done, and praise God that he has had the tenacity to get them done! As much as he has accomplished in the last 4 1/2 years, think of what he can and WILL accomplish in the next 3 1/2! BE HAPPY!

The Name of The Lord was invoked in defense of President Bush's record.

Might I remind you that the President has merely done what he was required to do under the law and had no other options but to respond as he has by his position as the president.

Are you referring to anything I said, Happy? Because if you were, you are mistaken.

I was referring to the man's character, and his response to vile attacks (see above article for example).

Do you have a problem with my referencing his character and exemplary behavior?

And please do not use your imagination and pre-conceived bias against me and the President, when you read my posts. Read the words that are in front of you. It will lead to much less confusion on your part.

I understand completely.

But look past the next two years into 2007 when George Bush's successor will be using all of this against him.

Katrina will be an issue, the the issue will be illegal immigration. Bush's record on that will hurt whoever will be running against Hillary.
