Actually, that storm that went in there a few years ago took out a bunch of windmills used to pump water for cattle. They were all uninsured. I can't remember the dollar figure of the damage, but it was more than you would have expected. Still, all in all, it is the best place for a hurricane to go. I'm not sure the King Ranch people would agree, though :)
Tried to go to Eastern WX forums, where I get a lot of my weather news, and they have been under a DOS attack...what timing...Two new named storms and noone to discuss them with....
Oil and gas are already up. I think investors are already getting jitters.

Well based on the 8PM advisory the center has reformed further North and it's moving Northwest so before worrying about Houston you really have to still think about Miami.
Yeah, but you can't compare 'Scrubs' to shows like; The Cisco Kid, Zorro, Roy Rogers, Hopalong Cassidy, Amos 'n Andy, The Three Stooges, Our Gang..... ;-}

I know that, and you know that....but some people actually have never seen those shows of which you speak (I've never seen Scrubs, but it is apparently a real show....)

Gotta confess. I've never watched Scrubs, either. I rarely watch any network TV before 10 pm.

a Hurricane Watch is in effect for all of the Florida Keys from Ocean Reef southward and westward to Dry Tortugas...including Florida Bay. The watch area will likely be upgraded to a Hurricane Warning later tonight.
did you know about this? another hurricane building up off Florida...going into the gulf, looks like....guess toward Texas they're thinking (but of course too early to be precise, I think).
