Van Halen being left out is the biggest joke of all! Only one of the greatest guitar players of all time and like Hendrix someone who actually changed the way the instrument was played! Revolutionized the instrument and layed down some blistering slabs of RAWK!

I share the anti-Rush gene with your wife. A Rush song will make me leave any room, store, or party.

In the meantime, they will ignore bands that were tremendously popular but largely apolitical, like Van Halen, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rush, and Heart. And they will pretend that bands which espoused conservative or traditional values, like Kansas or Styx, were a stain on the very fabric of Rock 'n Roll.

Which is why I was shocked Bob Seger and AC/DC were inducted.

Montrose is vastly under-rated

Agreed. I have their 1973 release with Sammy Hagar on vocals. There's not a bad song on there.

The irony is that Walden at Capricorn Records from Macon was a big buttbuddy of Carter's in 76 when Southern Rock was peaking and enlisted basically his whole roster to play for Jimmy.

I have Skynyrd's "Freebird: The Movie", live from 1976. At the end of Sweet Home Alabama - "Mr Carter's got the answer."

Jann said about Rush, "They will never get in or nominated as long as I live. What have they done besides Tom Sawyer? Nothing."

To the rich leftist Jann - "Big Money...got no soul......"

Ted Nugent doing a cover of "Baby Please Don't Go"

My second favorite Amboy Dukes song. My favorite - "Great White Buffalo", which is still played in Michigan, usually during hunting season.

I remember buying a Rush album and a buddy of mine was aghast: "Ohmygawd hide that thing NOW!" Like I was really slumming into lowlife rock n' roll by buying Rush.

The soundtrack of those left out is better than those who were in. Rush and Van Halen rocked!
