Thank you for mentioning Hitler. The Pope himself was member of the Hitler Youth, you got any problems with that? Don´t prosecute an entire nation. I thought collective guilt was a thing of the past that died 1945?
By the way, here in Germany, this kind of campaign isn´t going too well. It´ll be a boomerang, nobody likes to have the dignity of the soldiers violated through this abuse by Mr. Schwanitz.

We are protecting the likes of Schroeder along with the rest of Western Civilization. Those coffins are a badge of shame for Germany and those too cowardly to stand up and fight.

However the crux of the matter is right. Merkel would perhaps have sent troops to Iraq back then. Schröder didn't. As far as the vast majority of Germans are concerned, that's a point in his favour. The lesson won't be lost on Chancellor Merkel.

Evidently not. Germans lockstep just as well now as they did then. I've spent a few years in Europe and Europeans in general, Brits excluded, would embrace a tyrant just as fast now as they did in the 30's, IMHO.
