Thanks for the pings. Gut wrenching testimony from the coroner. Some of my happiest experiences have been in the north woods with my family and relatives....... I just can't imagine. What a tragedy.

Having the defendant testify in a capital murder case? It should be very interesting.

Now that we have heard from both ME's, a few things that stand out in my mind:

1- Evidence tech testimony showed no firearms were found in the areas of the 6 fatalities.

2- Of the 6 fatalities, 4 were shot in the back. Most had multiple wounds. Most back wounds have the indications of being followup shots.

3- The only firearms found belonged to Vang and Terry Willers.

4- Terry Willers' rifle had 1 round fired, Hesebeck admitted to fireing that 1 shot at the end of the event.

5- All other rounds fired were from Vang's firearm. There is no evidence that Vang's firearm was ever out of his posession. Therefor, we can conclude that Vang fired all but 1 of the shots.

6-In the article at http://www.startribune.com/stories/462/5614341.html during his interview with a Tribune reporter Vang said he shot the 8 hunters because he was "disrespected".

My conclusion: It is hard to claim self defense when you shoot unarmed folks in the back multiple times as they flee.

I came in the middle of this. Appears that one of the guys that gave Vang directions out of the area is on now. Vang is not on the stand, currently. Going over the lay of the land and maps and what did you have for lunch.
