The other point is one that Roberts made himself was that there would be more incentive for the nominee to lie.
But we sure would like to know in advance.
I took great comfort in the answers that he did provide and in his introductory speech.
From a judicial perspective, I think that we did very well. Yes, I would have preferred to have Clarence Thomas as SJC, but I understand the vulnerabilities of the confirmation process.
And the CSPAN cameras [camera operators/controllers] are neutral, right!
Riiiight!!
I speak up in defense of crossword puzzle workers (in situations calling for time-killing, when reading a book would be REALLY awkward.)
It's really a lot of fun, isn't it? Our family get-togethers wouldn't be nearly as interesting if it wasn't for my Moonbat sister. On Labor Day she said that if the people in NO were wealthy white businessmen (think WTC) and not poor black people, more of an effortwould be made to help them.
yup , I liked the caller from PR the said it should be named Prevent Parenthood
Roberts knows all this, he just chose not to educate the public. And that causes me a touch of chagrin.
Feds Search Homes of New Orleans Congressman William Jefferson
Perhaps he was in a hurry to get back home to destroy evidence that Katrina didn't wash away?
Wonder what's going on here. ...if there's a larger story beneath the surface.
Would be funny to hear the conversation Roberts had with his wife after the kids went to bed. I can picture them sitting in their livingroom, watching replays and having a good old fashioned belly laugh!
Thanks for the ping.
When does the hearing start?
There is a me song.
I love me
You love me
We all love me, I'm super
I love me
You love me
We all love me, I'm great!
LOL! How many Senators on this committee sing this song daily? LOL LOL LOL!
yup , that line of thinking is now written in stone , the re-writting of history starts at the point of purchase
It became unintentional parody. The man is like a vain operetta baritone warming up with personal pronouns.
You know he was like, "Honey, did you like how I b!tchslapped Russ Feingold?"
Fasten your seatbelts :)
Lying is improper behavior and thus impeachable. :-} But I get the drift.
I simply think it is bad policy to make appointments for life in what has turned out to be the most powerful branch of government without a thourough airing of the issues and their positions on already decided cases.
The hearings don't enlighten the public.
Understandably
I'm pretty sure these same idiot senators were the last ones picked in dodgeball. (which is why it can no longer be played in school)
It's now the top of the third inning and Judge Roberts is ahead 18-0.
Gotta go earn the coin of the realm. Will check in tonight. Have a good one.
:-) But we respect their conservative right to privacy! :D The privacy to have their own conversations, decisions, lives, without interference by well intentioned and adoring fans.
One of the SCOTUS blogs I frequent had kept the count from the first day (It's a huge blog, btw... funny). They counted yesterday's as well.
