Grassley on deck, Binden in the hole and Kyl after that.

Even Nora O'Donnell on MSNBC says "Roberts was unflapable."

There were several papers Roberts prepared when working for the Reagan Admin that were cited. He tried repeatedly to explain that while they may not have been his positions, as attny for the admin. he had to protect their interests. Clear to me but apparently not to the 'knowledgeable' Senators asking questions.
Roberts is skillful and has yet to refer to the reams of notes all Senators have before them.

Kennedy is just trying to get Roberts to lose his temper. It's all an act.

The senators have nothing, it's like grasping for straws.

I am so lucky my representative in the senate is Senator Kennedy,(fat boy, MA.) It too bad my other Senator Kerry (I voted for Roberts before I didn't, Ma.) does not get a prime time live shot bashing Judge Roberts.

He has focused on specific docs trying to make them look as bad as possible('is it still YOUR believe")and Roberts is knocking him down every time. Spector is doing a good job insisting on Kennedy letting Roberts finish his answers. Kennedy didn't touch Roberts.

Waiting for Schumer comment shows up as #666. Yeah, that's subtle :).

Roberts is answering questions without notes or briefing documents. Splash is asking questions from prepared notes, but is not displaying actual documents.

Kennedy is just trying to get Roberts to lose his temper.Never happen. I think Roberts is better prepared for the Democrats than any prior nominee.
To: VRWCmember
Kennedy: Boilerplate talking points about Roberts being against affirmative action in some case.
Roberts: Senator, you have misrepresened my position.
Spectre: Let him answer.......let him answer.....let him answer..

I had an evil thought when Kennedy was asking Roberts about the 9-0 decision on Brown v. Board of Education. Roberts explained how CJ Warren re-heard the case and argued in order to get the unanimous decision.
Roberts said that Warren worked very hard to make sure that he had a unanimous decision.
Kennedy petulantly said "So did the plaintiffs".
Roberts should have said "Yes they did. But I wasn't nominated to be plaintiff, I was nominated to be Chief Justice.

Loons are already saying that Kennedy Kicked Roberts....
Are they even watching the same hearings??
Sounds as pre-packaged as Kennedy's prepared statement...

The senators have nothing, it's like grasping for straws. I'm inclined to agree but learned never say never. Brit said during the Bork hearings he and his wife were convinced he'd be nominated and almost had a heart attack when the s*it hit the fan.
