Fake but "accurate" polling.

With everything going on in the world, CBS still has to pay somebody to "make up" the news. Polls are no substitute for sending out those lazy, bloated reporters to do some real investigative reporting. If we want American Idol for the news, we know what numbers to dial. For goodness sakes, do something more useful than preening themselves before the cameras go on.

My email to them:
I should have known better, but I took a peek at your poll here: http://www.cbsnews.com/htdocs/CBSNews_polls/hurricane.pdf

Since you oversampled Democrats and Independents, do you really feel this poll accurately reflects the feelings of the average American?

I can guarantee you it does not reflect the feelings of THIS American!

And everyone wonders why I say polls are a giant waste of time.

Cordially,

Maybe someone should alert the media that :
A poll has never nominated a Supreme Court Justice.
A poll has never reversed the results of a presidential election.
George Bush is POTUS for another three years and 4 months.

Can't help but add, a poll has never fed a hungry child or given shelter to a homeless person.

We need to write and inform them that if they continue to report bias polls, that we will then write their sponsors and threaten to boycott sponsor's products.

Despite the weighting, despite its 75% "adults" rather than reg. voters, the Powerline guys are thinking the Dems bashing of silent Pubbies is having a seriously negative affect.

I maintain its way too early to get a good feel on public opinion, since we've seen Old Media hide the gubernatiorial and mayoral failures, the photos of drowning busses, and the Red Cross being turned away.

imho, the Dems know it too, since they're now refusing to participate in hearings they originally demanded. Dems are screwed.

...at the end of the poll. (THIS IS WHEN THEY ARE MOST HONEST) "

Fascinating thought. Why do you think that?....because they've exposed their bias so much during the course of the poll that their conscience won't let them lie about party affiliation?

Ummmmm CBS, we don't have a "moderate" party. Seems it might be a fiction you use to "stuff the ballot box" so to speak. Until there's a moderate party, it might be best to poll members of existing parties. Otherwise, some of us will think you're trying to, well, how do I put it ... yep, some of us will think you're trying to lie to us.

I agree with your analysis. They want no part of a bi-partisan congressional investigation. They want another 9/11 commission chock full of the usual Democrap hacks and probably RINO hacks who will focus on FEMA and the federal response only. If the Republicans cave in to this nonsense, they're really headed for trouble in the next election. I hope they're not being suckered by the MSM, but I'm not too optimistic.

No one expects a fair "poll" from CBS.
