I just gave money - I have been waiting for the big guns to jump in on the 24th.
I'm doing the same.

I've e-mailed this to Melanie Morgan at Move America Forward. I don't know if she will get to see this, so can ANYONE here make sure it is read by someone at the organization?
"Dear Ms. Morgan,
I went to the Saturday, August 27, 2005 "Cindy Doesn't Speak for Me" rally in Crawford, Texas.
I am disabled and on a limited income, so I cannot attend the Washington Rally, nor contribute monetarily. I would like to contribute this letter from Captain Gary Bourland, USMC, who is stationed in Iraq and read about the Rally in the story printed in the Wilson County News in Floresville, Texas. This is addressed to me, but I think it appies to every single person that attended the Crawford rally, and those who are attending the Washington Rally for our troops. Would you please read Captain Bourland's letter at the Rally? I am not important, but what Capt. Bourland wrote is very important. I am asking you to please, give Capt. Bourland a voice at the Washington Rally.

Im very proud of you. Every day we are reminded how crucial it is what exactly we are doing. Countless IEDs, Indirect Fire and sporadic sniper fire are continuous reminders as well. As the news reports of the Iraqi constitution this and the constitution that, it is amazing they
dont even recognize that what they are reporting is a monumental thing called democracy in action. Will the constitution change? Yes, just as ours does almost on a monthly basis.
Your selfless actions similar to the others efforts I have witnessed through the AnySoldier program continuously humble me in the gratitude and awesome support that is only found in the United States. Ive been deployed to numerous countries and believe me there is only one United States. No one else comes close. The news channels report the one sided view for both the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. You dont hear about young PFCs in Iraq providing first aide to an insurgent wounded child and then becoming wounded themselves as they attempt to help the wounded child. No, they dont report that because they would rather push the big
items that ultimately bring attention to their station.
Your Marines, Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen continue to train an infant military force, establish peace in a hostile environment, eliminate dictatorship and terrorist activities and build a government in a country that has no hope unless we provide it. Its called their job. They will
do it regardless with or without any support because we swore that we would when we signed up for this type of service. But I can tell you there isnt any service member out there that likes to be kicked in the face and be dishonored like those protestors are doing. They are
degrading our nation and armed forces and the men & women that have died in protecting it.
They truth is Linda there is no physical way the Mujahadeen in Afghanistan or the foreign fighters in Iraq can militarily beat the US forces currently stationed in those locations and they know that and have attested to that especially when we capture them and sell out their own brother or father to coalition forces to save their own neck. The real traddagy is that both of the previous terrorist groups love our media because they are doing the work for them in the US. They love it when our media tells a mother back home in Ohio that her son has been
killed in Iraq and then watch her in her anguish the uprising against US forces deployed. Of course she is going to be upset but to have it shaped into counter productivity for our fighting members is dang near criminal and treason. The insurgents will attack young wives, mothers and familys of lost ones back in the states by negative propaganda, religious groups and anti was protestors. Thats where the real war is at and it's time the American people do something like what you have done to fight against it. So, I salute you Linda. Thank you for combating the
enemy on our own front steps and making a difference.
Semper Fi, Capt Bourland, Iraq.
It would be great if we had posters for everyone who can't attend, with something like, "Too busy to protest, I'm helping Katrina victims" on it.
Provide some reality-- juxtapose the Sheehan insanity.

God bless you MAF'ers and Give 'em Hell!!
This message brought to you by FREEPNORAD. If anyone wants on or off this ping list, say so here or by freepmail.
I have plenty of photos from the "Cindy doesn't speak for me" rally in Crawford, Texas August 27, 2005. How does one post them here?
Look, I have posted an e-mail here from a USMC Captain in Iraq, I've e-mailed the request to Move America Forward, to you on here, and I'm asking now:
DOESN'T ANYONE HERE THINK THAT THE VOICE OF A SOLDIER IN IRAQ THANKING ALL OF US IS IMPORTANT ENOUGH TO ACKNOWLEDGE?
Am I INVISIBLE HERE? Or is everyone too busy patting themselves on the back to LISTEN to ONE SOLDIER SAYING THANK YOU!!!!
Is this in conjuction with the concert Clint Black is putting on?
Someone in the know will see it, and forward it.
I'm starting to doubt it. I've been at it since this morning trying to get the word out. No one is listening. No responses to e-mails, posts ignored. I'm in tears now and giving up. Capt Gary Bourland had e-mailed Elaine at the Wilson County News in the 1st place asking why the American people had forgotten the soldiers fighting a war in Iraq and Afghanistan. When Elaine told me that, nothing could stop me from going to that Crawford Rally because NO AMERICAN SOLDIER should EVER feel that way. The story of the Rally raised his and his soldier's spirits, resulting in the e-mail I received from him.
I'm not looking for attention for me or a pat on the back. I just want to be able to tell Capt. Bourland that America heard him. I don't think that's too much to ask.
Linda. I'm pinging Kristinn, who is heading up FR's rally, in coordination with Move America Forward. Pinging others who will want to read the letter. Thanks for posting it.

Fabulous letter!! Must read, folks -- let's all work to get this out there to all the right eyes and ears. It's just so wonderful to hear directly from one of our warriors and his observations about the importance of the cause are right on the mark. We've got to keep getting this sort of thing in the face of the MSM -- they are truly working on behalf of the terrorists when they slant the news against our mission.
Linda -- great letter, thanks for posting it! Sounds like it's been discouraging day for you but don't give up on it -- I suspect lots and lots of folks just hadn't seen it yet (I know I hadn't). Speaking only for myself, I had read the beginning of the thread about the Move America Forward announcement but had not scrolled at all down the thread..... just came back to finally read the thread and saw this terrific letter now. Once some of the ping lists get going over the weekend I suspect it will get to a lot of the right eyes.....
Here is a photo I hope someone attending the rally can enlarge and use as a sign
