Looks like he's leaving for good.
They say Genest is replacing him "in the interim" but then go on to state the pay for the position. Does that mean he is formally being given the position?... or not?
To: calcowgirl
Hard to say. Genest is definately a conservative, and really smart. I'd be happy with him in that position.

Thanks. Being the from Department of Social Services, I wasn't sure. lol.

Before going to the administration he was most recently the Senate Republican lead fiscal consultant.

"the Senate Republican lead fiscal consultant"These must really be "the dark days" in the Repub Legislative leadership! Dave Cox acted so happy to see me the other day, that it almost seemed like he was a little lonely!!!
Don't tell him I said that, because I'm hoping he'll join me for a roast of Folsom Mayor Emeritus Bob Holderness in a few days...

Dave Cox acted so happy to see me the other day, Dave Cox is a gracious gentleman who has earned my respect. I may not agree with him on assorted issues and leadership style, but he has earned my respect. I've not really worked with him on many issues, but he always gives me a smile and a nod of recognition, which is rare among the self-important egomaniacs in this town.

Do you consider yourself a conservative? I suppose so. Tom McClintock thinks I am. Does that count?

Who is McClintock? ;-)
You both have MY endorsement as conservatives. lol.
To: ElkGroveDan
Someone else with impeccable conservative credentials has already sent me a note.
I have no more questions.
It's always good to meet another conservative. Lately, we seem to be overrun with a surplus of GOP Big Tent RINOs, liberals and moderates.

"Lately, we seem to be overrun with a surplus of GOP Big Tent RINOs, liberals and moderates."Yes! Even here in the supposed sanctuary of FR, especially since around the time of the Recall Election!
I started to get a little alarmed at your questioning of ElkGroveDan's conservatism until I thought about and read your astute comment about being recently over-run with "New Majority Republican" types!!!

There are more and more everyday. Campaign funds must be flowing. ;-)

I don't mind a big tent as long as the latecomers aren't comin through the door, shovin the progammed speaker off the danged stage, preachin a whole different gospel, or even an abridged version to compete with the written, established and agreed upon Party Platform!!!
Whatta you think about dat Grampa???

I know the feeling.
It is preferable to see your enemy attack (and be prepared to defend yourself)
than be stabbed in the back by your 'friend'.
