This is very misunderstood even by members of the church.
LDS absolutely believe in Trinity. We believe the Light of Christ enters every soul. We believe Jesus is the Father of this Earth thus God The Father. We also believe that He died on the Cross for all of our sins. Three in one.
We also believe in living Prophets who tell us to abide by the laws of the countries we live in.
We also believe in the Book of Mormon which explains the Trinity better than does the Bible. Often leading members to forget our major believes about Jesus Christ as explained in the New Testament. Unfortunately they as the children of Moses are not ready for the full glory of the father, but then none of us are.
Main point is. We believe very much in Jesus Christ being our one and only Saviour. We are nothing without him. We absolutely believe in the Trinity as explained in the New and Old Testament.
If you do not believe in living prophets then the rest matters not. We will all know the full truth in the next life, after each of our deaths. Until then all Christians worship the same God, Jew, Catholic, Baptist, Methodist or LDS.

Indeed. That's why I don't go around saying who is going to hell or not (though I think we would probably know where people like Pol Pot or Hitler are going).
I thought, though, that the LDS believed that God the Father was our literal spiritual father and was distinct from Christ, who was his firstborn son (but also a God). Also, that the Holy Spirit was a separate entity as well. That is still a concept of trinity as in three.

Common misconception.
We do believe that Christ had a Father (Elohim). But Elohim is not a part of the Trinity.
We also believe in the Holy Ghost a being who is a helper of Christ.
But, the Holy Ghost is not the light of Christ or Holy Spirit as some call this light. This light of Christ is also refereed as the Holy Ghost sometimes making it confusing. This light is how God can be everywhere at the same time.
I could show you numerous references in our "Book of Mormon" that Refer to Christ as the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Some members get so wrapped in our belief that there are three beings that they forget that the only important one for us in Christ. He is our Saviour and GOD. His Light fills the entire Universe. He is so important that he is all that is spoken of in the Bible, except for a few cryptic verses, even those speak of the importance of Christ and our focusing only on him (the Trinity).
I hope this if helpful. It saddens me that so many members of this church do not understand that we do believe in the Trinity or Christ our Lord. They are taught he created this Earth we live on. They are taught that his light fills the entire universe. They are taught we can only be saved through him. Yet somehow many do not make the connection that this is exactly what is meant by the Trinity. A God Small enough to dwell in our heart yet large enough to fill the universe. We are all so blessed by him.
Another misconception is that many members have is that people in other Churches are not saved. This absolutely not true. We believe that all who accept fully the Saviour will be saved. They are confused by forgetting that life hardly ends with our earthly death. That those great souls of all churches will choose in the next life what life they desire to live throughout eternity.
