"I'm still waiting for the gun-control nuts to start up after this issue."

I can hear them chittering away in their burrows inside the beltway now.

I could tell you a very similar tale.

By the way, you left out the "If you're not gonna practice RELIGIOUSLY with it, don't buy one" advice which was part of my litany.

These yankees are so off base on this. Us Southerners love our guns and hunting. This time of year we always buy new guns, after all dove season just started and deer season is right around the corner plus the Fall ploughing is coming up and ya gots to be ready for all them snakes and other vermin.

In ascending order:

.223
9mm
12 Gauge, assorted flavors from #6 to slugs
.50 BMG

All in locked metal boxes with handles on 'em.

The biggest is a box that used to hold 3 105mm rockets.

It's, well, luggable.

It's fun to talk about guns with a euro in the south and then point out all the trucks and say every one probably has a gun in it. They get this child-like look that's a mixture of fear and excitement on their faces.

Take the women SHOOTING! Teach them and once they get over any fear, they'll have FUN! Then, use THAT to encourage them buy their own weapons and ammo, thus increasing your total arsenal holdings.

It's interesting you should mention. A couple of years back, we had a couple of VERY liberal women out to the house. We went down the hill and shot the Colt .45 ACP, and AR-15. They had a BLAST and did REALLY well. I "think" it changed their entire perception of firearms and self protection.

One of the problems with that bunch of guys I used to work with is that most of them were to PW'd to stand up to their wives anyway. Ah well... ;-)

One guy even told me that he was trained in some martial art using a short sword. I asked if it was going to help from 25 feet against somebody with a shotgun. The look on his face told me that it would NOT.

Sheesh...you know the saying I'm sure... "Never bring a knife to a gunfight." ;-)

"I have three heavy safes bolted to concrete floors at home. I have others at undisclosed locations. What I listed is about half of what I have at home. I didn't even mention the gas operated semi autos, 1 at home and 2 others else where."

God bless you, you're a true American.

"Try buying at www.ammoman.com "

Ditto that. I've bought from them and had great service. Prices are right also.

I was suprised and asked them, "WHAT are your wives going to say about this?" Both pretty much said the same thing....that the girls would just have to get OVER it. From what I was later told, they did get over it! :-)

Dang, my first reaction if my husband were to come home with more arsenal would be..."when are we going to go out and play??" No "gettin' over it" period for this lady, no!

I pulled my first trigger from a .22 at around age 5 (thanks Dad). Ladies fear (and some men's I'm afraid) comes from complete ignorance of safety and mechanism of how a firearm works.

That, they do need to "get over" and learn how to use and respect a useful tool.

Good eye. Yep, normally it's all we "bad people" who want guns so that we can protect ourselves. Suddenly even a few "good people" seem to want the evil little contraptions.

My .45 ACP supply had dipped to 900 rounds so I bought 2 boxes of 50 230 grain FMJ. Have 1100 9mm, 300 3 inch 12 gauge 00 buck, 150 270 Winchester, 400 38 spec/357 mag, and several thousand 22 LR.

If you two keep this up, Barrel Erosion could be a greater threat to our Republic than looters. And don't forget ear protection.

When at home. Ruger P97DC in 45 ACP with spare mag on night stand and Mossberg 12 gauge pump within reach. 45 travels with me. Mossberg stays in safe when house is empty.

Did you see the footage of the three guys tackling the little old lady who showed them her gun this mornin in NO? Then they forcibly removed her from her home and took her to the convention center where she was released and able to go back home.

They just don't want to leave because they know everything they have will be stolen as soon as their backs are turned. They made it through the storm, they're damned if they're going to leave now just because some jack-booted thug says they have to "for their own good".

Somebody needs to lock that Noggin character up, "for his own good". Dude has delusions of grandeur.
