She is an ugly version of Kathryn Harris, I got to see her up close once when she was just a Congress-critter

Bysiewicz was never in Congress.

Maybe they were afraid that a hurricane would hit Connecticut - so nobody would want a woman governor.

Bysiewicz at right behind Carl Schiessel for years.

I went to high school with him

So, whoever told you that, told you wrong

I have also met her on election day in 96 in Middletown when she won re-election to the house

You're confused. She was a member of the state House of Representatives in Hartford from 1993-1999. She never served in Washington, hence never in Congress.

No, I never said she was in the FEDERAL Congress, all I said was she was in CONGRESS

AND, I clarified that she sat behind my personal friend, Schiessel

Not my error.

No state legislature is referred to as "Congress", only the Federal legislative body is.

In Connecticut, you are either in the State Congress or the State Senate

And you know that is how people say it,too, ok?

Thanks.

"In Connecticut, you are either in the State Congress or the State Senate. And you know that is how people say it,too, ok? Thanks."

Let me reiterate again for your understanding. The State Senate is the State Senate and the State House of Representatives is the State House of Representatives. It is NOT, nor has it ever been called "Congress." The entirety of the legislature is called the "General Assembly." That, too, is not, nor has it ever been called "Congress." Not in Connecticut, not in Tennessee, not on Mars. I was trying to make a kind correction and you've managed to dig yourself a hole in your ignorance on what legislative bodies are formally and officially called. As one who has done CONSIDERABLE research on Connecticut legislative history, I sure know of what I speak. And thank YOU very much, sir.

You dont need to reiterate anything, you are playing word games, and you know that we use that term here in Connecticut quite commonly, so, get over it

Actually, since your not from Connecticut, you wouldn't have a clue what we say up here, now, would ya?

Apparently I do need to reiterate it. How can you be so woefully uninformed on basic civics ?! And I've never heard anyone (except for you) call the State Legislature "Congress" after the facts have been presented to them. Are you that stubborn you can't acknowledge you were in error on a basic fact ?

Hey, apparently you fail to read posts: "As one who has done CONSIDERABLE research on --->Connecticut<---- legislative history, I sure know of what I speak. And thank YOU very much, sir."

You get an "F" once again.

Hey, Look, since you aren't from here, I could care less what you read.

I LIVE here, and we vote for STATE CONGRESSMEN, not STATE LEGISLATORS when spoken in our common word usage, and also on ALL the road signs, it says CONGRESS, or FOR CONGRESS and it means STATE CONGRESS

When it is someone like Rosa Delauro, it is U.S. CONGRESS.

When it is Local, it just says RUNNING FOR CONGRESS.

People do use the term STATE LEGISLATORS, but NO ONE up here corrects people for saying STATE CONGRESS or referring to someone as being in the Congress like Bysiwicz (sp?) was.

So, you need your money back from all your...er...research.

The proper dictionary word that you are demanding be used is meaningless when the common man says something else, get it?

Please don't mention her in the same sentance with Rep. Harris, even to distinguish her. You might compare to Pelosie, Waters, Lee or McKinney but not Kathryn.

"The proper dictionary word that you are demanding be used is meaningless when the common man says something else, get it?"

Common-man also believes we live in a democracy and there's such a thing as "separation of church and state." All are in error. Congress is FEDERAL and not state.

Look, get a life, your "investigation" failed, we call it the Congress up here sometimes...in fact, MOST of the time, ok?

Get over it.
