The voters of California voted for against this 61%.

It doesn't matter, although Drudge has up that he'll veto it, the court"s gonna do it anyway, that's why we need a Constitutioinal Amendment.

Schwarzenegger vows gay marriage bill veto
Associated Press

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger announced Wednesday that he will veto a bill that would allow gay marriages in California.

Schwarzenegger said the legislation, given final approval Tuesday by lawmakers, would conflict with the intent of voters when they approved a ballot initiative five years ago. Proposition 22 prevents California from recognizing same-sex marriages performed in other states or countries.

"We cannot have a system where the people vote and the Legislature derails that vote," the governor's press secretary, Margita Thompson, said in a statement. "Out of respect for the will of the people, the governor will veto (the bill)."

Despite his promised veto, Schwarzenegger "believes gay couples are entitled to full protection under the law and should not be discriminated against based upon their relationship," the statement said.

"He is proud that California provides the most rigorous protections in the nation for domestic partners," it added.

At the risk of his dear wife forever banning him to sleep on the couch I don't think he would veto the bill. However, I do think he will seek a legal way to put this through the court system since the CAlifornia voters said no to marriage other than between a man and a woman.

The California state democrat dominated scum rot gutted legislature is specious and absolutely corrupt.

As far as I'm concerned the democrats are the reason this state has sucked the beauty and quality of this once gorgeously blessed state dry.

Their greed knows no end. Their unions cronies and teachers union is the paramount of gluttony, sloth, and disrepute that can ever be found anywhere in a third world country.

I think gays really should come up with their own idea of marriage and celebrate it. Reallly, I have nothing against gays. Many are my friends. Bbut I'm thinking the divorce attorneys are the ones celebrating a new inroad to increasing their profits and the democrat state legislators their campaign coffers.

Announced tonight he's going to veto it! Don't be so quick to judge; he's said all along he would do what the 'people' of the State want.

Thank you Governor. We're counting on you now to not buckle under due to pressure from the other side...and we'll stand by your side, all the way. Thank you again!

Remember when Gray Davis turned his back on Proposition 187, also overwhelmingly approved by the voters? He refused to represent us, so we kicked him out.

Arnold might meet the same fate if he doesn't veto this bill, and if he doesn't veto SB60, the illegal alien drivers' license bill. That one comes up for assembly vote very soon.
