I'll chime in from Ohio.

You guys in CA should have elected Tom McClintock!

I seriously doubt that in reality. What would the alternative be? Another radical liberal Davis in the form of Bustamonte, or another radical LaRaza-supporting Mexican? Just what California needs...

While Arnold has a low approval rating, it is still higher then the congress, both the house and senate. Sacramento has created a huge us vs them environment here on the gold coast.

Hmmm . . . the cast of Predator doesn't seem to have much staying power so far.

Maybe Carl Weathers will run for governor of Louisiana.

Heh. I've been saying that since 2003.

The nonpartisan Field Poll found that just 36 percent of voters would support Schwarzenegger, while 56 percent would not.

Arnold is hurting. Looks like only the hard core lefties support the reelection of the liberal Govinator. At least that's my take.

"What would the alternative be?"

It will be state bankruptcy. I lived in CA for 5 years. The propositions that they place on the ballots are ridiculous. They basically ask if the voter would like a new state service. They never say "Would you want this if it meant a significant increases in your taxes or a cut in other services?"

The level of taxes and fees in that state are out of control. And with all of the mandatory spending will not result in a happy ending.

I don't know much about California politics..all I need to see is on the byline of the article..AP, San Francisco...did anyone expect this poll to have a different outcome?

Well, the guy who played the predator (Kevin Peter Hall) is dead, so you know he's been voting Democrat since 1991.

wrong. Arnold is amazing. For conservatives, the lower your poll ratings are the more free market...anti government you are. Congratulations to you, Arnold for royally pissing off liberals. That means you are doing your job!

Did I recall the Field Poll said that Bustamante would win running away in the last election? If Arnold signs that gay marraige bill, he WILL not get re-elected. I don't recall that Field poll being non-partisan at all.

Eh, I think that Arnold is doing a great job for conservatives out in California. Think about it, he's strong on the one issue that is hurting that state the most: Illegal Immigration. If I were living in Cali, I'd vote for him again.

The People's Republic of Mexifornia is a disgrace.

You're saying that like it's a recent phenomenon. California's been a regional, national and international joke for decades. We're only getting to the punchline now...

No credit to the AP, but the numbers sounds pretty much accurate for the mood here in CA.

If he doesn't veto the homosexual marriage bill, his political aspirations will probably end here.

Like passing more anti-Second Amendment laws. Yeah, that really "helps," alright.

Think about it, he's strong on the one issue that is hurting that state the most: Illegal Immigration.

Nonsense. Bill Richardson (a Democrat) has actually done more than Ahhnold. All that Team Arnold has done is pay lip service to the issue and say they'll "consider" this or that. But our border is still as porous and 187 is still dead as a doornail thanks to neglect from the Country Club pubbies.
