Two movies come to mind regarding the mayor and police chief of NOLA:

"The Front Page" or the earlier version with Cary Grant, "His Girl Friday".

That's exactly why.... He is going to lose his base if he doesn't get in there quick like to stir things up. But these people aren't stupid they are seeing for themselves that the liberals are lying just to keep them down and dependent and voting for Democrats.

There is no great WHITE conspiracy against BLACKS.

"You would not believe what the city of Houston (and Texas) accomplished in less than 48 hours...but the fact that it is so well coordinated with no time is mind-boggling"

"One local company in Houston came in and built 80 showers in the Convention Center within hours of the Friday morning decision that they needed to open still another shelter."

Gee, Houston didn't need George Bush, FEMA, Homeland Security, or an army general to tell them what to do. If only there were this type of leadership from the New Orleans mayor and the Louisiana governor's office.

"THE FRONT PAGE" is the earlier version and the best one, of a movie made and remade and remade at least 4 times over. And though I like Cary Grant, Adolph Menjou was far better suited to the role and HILDY is and should have stayed a man's role. Roz Russell, whom I like in other movies, was miscast and terrible in it.

I'm missing your point, though. None of the versions of that movie remind me of what it does you. Sorry!

" Blacks are beginning to realize that the Dems have been holding them back rather than helping them, and that whitey aint such a bad guy after all. Jackson and the Congressional Black Caucus ( won't be able to reverse the growing momentum either. ) " ............

Ex specially when the whole truth comes out who really dropped the ball in their city and state, and against the backdrop of the radical hatred rhetoric of Jessy Jackson, Al Sharpton, and Elijha Cummings.

" On Sunday, he was praising the Lord, saying the ordeal was a test that ended up dispelling his lifelong distrust of white people and setting his life on a new course. He said he hitched a ride on Friday in a van driven by a group of white folks. "Before this whole thing I had a complex about white people; this thing changed me forever," said Brant, 36, a truck driver who, like many of the refugees receiving public assistance in Houston, Texas, is black. " .....................

I wonder how the liberals/democrats/MSM are going to hide this and spin this truth when a lot of Blacks see first hand this right before their eyes, and start to wise up and wake up that the MSM / Democrats / Liberals have been lying to them for years, manipulating them for years ?

Put these facts together, and when the truth about this whole disaster comes out , and when they get the truth about Able Danger, there is going to be a great awakening for the good among the Black people in this country that we have never seen, and will never see again.

The corrupt mayor whose brother-in-law was the chief of police...both trying to cover up their corruption and ineptitude.

Oh well, nevermind.

But the story really is NOT about that and it takes place in Chicago. It was actually written by former newspapermen, about newspapermen...........AS A COMEDY! It wasn't even written as political satire.

And Nagin's b-i-l isn't the chief of police.

Many victims of the inept political machine in LA/NO have been displaced from their local churches. This could be a positive thing. Black churches are their support but also the home of political activism. Churches are opening their arms around the country. It will be interesting to see what impact this will have.

dispelling his lifelong distrust of white people

No!!! You mean Louis Farrakan lied!? The "white devil" is only a non-existent boogeyman, perpetrated by him and Jessie Jackson to keep them all in "The Village"?

Yes.

He lied.

The lie is all they have.

***.....You told the lie then to maintain your influence and increase your power to do good (as only the Chosen can). And you keep on telling the lie for the same reason.

Why would you admit that, despite your tactical support for civil rights, you weren't really committed to civil rights as Americans understand rights? What you really wanted was to overthrow the very Constitution that guaranteed those rights, based as it is on private property and the individual-both of which you despise.

It is because America is a democracy and the people endorse it, that the left's anti-American, but "progressive" agendas can only be achieved by deceiving the people. This is the cross the left has to bear: The better world is only achievable by lying to the very people they propose to redeem.

.....Conservatives who think progressives are misinformed idealists will forever be blind-sided by the malice of the left-by the cynicism of those who pride themselves on principle, by the viciousness of those who champion sensitivity, by the intolerance of those who call themselves liberal, and by the ruthless disregard for the well-being of the downtrodden by those who preen themselves as social saints. ....*** Source

"We're getting reports of how some religion-based 'aid' groups are trying to fly evangelists into the stricken areas and how U.S. Army chaplains are carrying bibles -- not food or water -- to 'comfort' people," Ellen Johnson, president of American Atheist, said in a statement. "People need material aid, medical care and economic support -- not prayers and preaching."

What an ass. Note the scare quotes around "comfort" and "aid". Here's more, from the same press release:

Johnson also said that Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Blanco and President George Bush “should not be violating the Constitution by telling people to pray for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.”

“It’s unconstitutional for government officials to be promoting religion; and besides, judging from the speed of some relief efforts, officials should be busy working instead of preaching.”

Someone please smack these fools.

Anyway, thanks for the post.

That hole they're digging, is really getting deep.

Thanks for the quote. I had not see it. (((Shaking my head)))

In the Oregonian's late edition yesterday, there was a moving AP photo of evacuees being welcomed by hugs. I could not find it today after doing an exhaustive search. But this photo of a welcome in San Diego is pretty good. More Reports? Perhaps the tragedy of Katrina is inspiring people to open up their hearts to strangers?

The true character of our country is there to see.

The msm is missing the story, hell bent on spinning political lies.

Greta is catching on
