I seem to remember,(too late and too lazy to look it up) a story Jesus told of a wall or a tower that fell on the people of a certain city. He asked if they were worse sinners than the ones that lived(or something like that). His point was( just like the bumper sticker) Stuff happens! Be ready to meet your maker and judge at any time. We belong to Him and He can save us or let us die, at His whim and Will. That is why good people die along with the evil, it's their time to go. Some have a heavenly appointment, and others not. One can be taken out by being evil, but that depends on the Will of God. How do we know if it's not His will, that the world be infested with all manner of evil, for our testing. It is our job to do good to glorify Him and spread His Word, even if we are persecuted. The world by definition is evil, cursed and lost. Do not conform to this world. That is why(almost every time) a poll is anti Christian, anti moral, anti American, or anti common sense. It freaks me out when a homosexual is devastated that he got HIV. What did he expect? Why was their a breakdown in law and order in NO? The people, that's why. What did they expect? In a town of 50k, you may have some looters, but they won't be Christians. It is usually a minor thing. In a town like NO or San Francisco, or LA, watch out! Just think if nice liberal LA was hit with something like this. Probably worse than NO.
Oh yeah, it already happened at the "Rodney King" trial.

When the Sons of God appearing preaching the "gospel of the Kingdom" in each city, than judgment day will come for that city. Because their miracles will be undeniable, and the Holy Spirit so strong, the response of the city to accept or reject Christ's final call to salvation will immediately determine that site's final fate.
There still might be a few more major calamities to wake up the people in America, prior to their appearance. My money is on San Francisco, especially if gay marriage is legalized.
Luke 10
8 And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:
9 And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
10 But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say,
11 Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
12 But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.

The event has been endorsed by Mayor Ray Nagin, who promoted the activities in a letter stating: "There is no place like this on Earth! Southern Decadence XXXII is an exciting event. We welcome you and know that you can anticipate great food, great music and great times in New Orleans."
So not only is Mayor Nagin incompetent, he's a sicko too! Why doesn't that surprise me?
Maybe he got a thrill out of all this suffering while he was holed up at the Hyatt?

"Sick.... so very sick....
What is wrong with this world?"
Liberals, and most of the gay's are with them. I will bet my home that there were no conservative gay's there carrying on like that. The conservatives are all at the shelters helping the displaced people.

And...did this happen prior to the Hurricane? Did it also happen in MS? In Alabama? Surely I would have seen something about that on this site?

I hope they get looted by desperate people running low on feathers and leather. Do you think the gumball machine at post 39 will be looted?

I'm rather surprised Fred Phelps hasn't shown up yet. He does have a rather appropriate ZIP code.
It's inevitable that he will show up somewhere with signs saying "Thank God For Katrina" or some such thing.
Am I the only one who thinks this is much ado about nothing? So a couple dozen people had a small parade in order to flip the proverbial bird to the storm. It's not a whole lot different from a "hurricane party" or football fans making a point of tailgating in a blizzard.

"It's New Orleans, man. We're going to celebrate," Matt Menold, a 23-year musician wearing a sombrero and a guitar slung on his back, told the Associated Press. Having once stumbled accidentally on Boston's "gay pride" parade,I must ask:was this scumbag wearing anything other than a sombrero and a guitar?

We saw our good-hearted soldiers carrying the stick-figures with AIDS to safety in the capitol of Southern decadence this week. Homosexuality is a repugnant life-style.
To: justche
I can't quite believe that God's hand was punishing all of New Orleans. In the old testament, He only did that when there was not one righteous person.
I have yet to say any of the "Katrina Was God's Judgement" crowd explain why the French Quarter (being on higher ground) was largely spared. Either their Deity has bad aim, or he wasn't involved.

Gagggg, I couldn't believe that even Nagin would be so dense as to issue this statement this short a time after Katrina. Maybe one of his lackeys with his signature stamp. Nawlins until further notice is not a party town, it's a get-out-of town.

It's not uncommon. I went to a Browns game in late 1999 where it was snowing pretty hard and the wind was coming in right off the lake. There were still a lot of us tailgating before the game.
It's a "transcending the elements" type of thing, I suppose.
