I thought this was very well-said!
(I looked, but did not see The Australian listed as having posting limits. Please, pardon my error if I'm mistaken.)

Bumping for another go at it...

Yes, I would still like to know how you prepare for something this devastating. It's just not possible. There are still almost ten thousand who refuse to leave the city. Are we supposed to mobilize thirty thousand troops and all kind of supplies before every storm, just in case?

"I would still like to know how you prepare for something this devastating" John Kerry has a plan, he's just not ready to reveal it yet....

I think the plan changed recently.

Is that before or after he voted against it?

President Kerry, after all, would have faced this disaster with a total of 7 1/2 months' administrative experience in his lifetime.Pretty dang scarey, ain't it?

Good article.Apparently an Aussie has a better grasp of the issues than most US papers. While the left continues to obfusicate and twist the facts to suit their agenda, there is some sanity out there.Fed up.

Journalist and blogger Andrew Sullivan, for example, lashed FEMA director Michael Brown for saying he hadn't learned until Thursday that several thousand people needed help at the New Orleans Convention Centre. "Brown apparently doesn't get CNN," Sullivan sneered.
But CNN didn't report on the convention centre situation until Thursday and no other news organisation seems to have known before then that more than a handful of people were there.
Is this true? I would certainly like to know! This has been a major talking point of the left, and it would certainly help if we could squash it like a bug!

Good post, and that's good news about the ABC Poll...the MSM thinks that most of the people in this country are idiots.
The major part of the blame rests squarely on the Mayor of NO and the Governor of La...I think the Feds reacted fairly well, and FEMA is supposed to work with the state and local people, how can that happen if the ones in charge are in hiding?
