The Red Cross is nothing but a money sucking bureaucracy of the useless sort.

ok maybe "useless" should be "near useless"

A tactic to save his noble life. It beats a bullet in the head from one of the street mongers who relish in anarchy. No, you're missing the point. The hotdog vendor wasn't in danger with plenty of law enforcement support in the vast parking lot. He just wanted to feed some hungry people and was denied by the Red Cross control freaks.

Ever notice how anyone who has served in the armed services has no use for the ARC?

Yup. The first time I recall hearing the Red Cross bad mouthed it came from my veteran grandfather.
To: Roccus
Imagine that.
I asked my bookeeper (aka wife) to send a donation to the Salvation Army this week.

I see they also haven't changed since 9/11...when I vowed never to give them another dime.

I wondered the same thing. Who in the hell made the Red Cross the boss of what goes on in the parking lot of the Astrodome and Reliant Center? Evidently, they threatened the guy enough that he folded his tent, but he made sure to report it to a news station. Personally, I would have made them arrest me, which would have drawn the hungry news media to cover the outrageous story. If you ask me, this law abiding guy missed a golden opportunity to stick it to the Red Cross.

Perhaps. The Red Cross has no legal jurisdiction over me so far as I know and I'd react accordingly.
Additionally, there has been endless crime in the face of law enforcement.

Since when would the red cross (lowercase intentional) have jurisdiction over someone with a permit issued by the municipality?
Sounds funny t'me.
(the gannett article, less acknowledgement, is going to be put on 'restroom distribution' when I get back to work on Tuesday - one per stall only visible when the door's closed - the management don't use the same facilities as The People Who Matter so they never see what's posted in there (men's AND women's) and no one ever lets them find out. Try it in YOUR company!)

watching the History Channel's documentary on 911Here too. Wife bawling like it was that day. Nature is not evil but may have evil results. Katrina cannot have been stopped but perhaps 9/11 could have been and that is worth crying over.

I will give you your due in making the point of some lawlessness going on at the Astrodome. As a matter of fact, I'll probably post a thread of factual stories about SEVERAL horrible events against Houstonians from some N.O. savages that have been brought over here.
I'm talking about some very violent criminals, folks. I fear for my city. We already had enough crime before bringing tens of thousands of New Orleans homeless/mentally ill/drug addicted/violent and down right evil and ruthless citizens to Houston. I found out this evening that anyone of these evacuees is free to roam away from the designated areas where they've been brought.
I guarantee you that I, along with many other Houstonioans will be demanding that our city officials have a method of keeping track of these people. THEY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO ROAM OUR STREETS!!!!!

Wasn't it the Red Cross that was paying some politico's wife... Libby Dole?... $400k and a private jet, to try to hit the little people up for $2 donations. As I recall, and my recall on this is probably not perfect, some other woman did what you said. Libby Dole replaced her and did her best to help the Red Cross recover it's reputation.
Not sure what happened next, but Libby is now a congresswoman.
Give to the Salvation Army folks.

I'll be posting this on another thread tomorrow, but since you're bring up restroom stalls, you might be interested in knowing that N.O. evacuees are trashing out the restrooms at the Astrodome. That's right folks, surprise... surprise. I know this to be true and it is a fact. I'm calling anhyone who will listen tomorrow to suggest that officials divert some volunteers to restroom duty. Everyone needs to be told that they are welcome here as long as they take care of the facilities that are housing them.
Many of these people are animal-like and have been urinating and defacating on the streets of N.O. for years. These folks need to be told that if they cannot manage to flush their waste down a toilet and not trash out a restroom, they'll be taken back to the wastewater they're used to in N.O. AND I'm serious!

I wonder how long it will be until we hear this from all across the country.

When new projects are occupied by old project dwellers they become old projects pretty quickly. People groups have characteristics, even the apostle Paul recognized this and commented upon the Cretans as a group.
