It's the actual headline from an Aussie paper. It's safe to say "Our" means Australian.

It's a real shame to see people from other countries having to fear for their lives during a natural disaster in America.I know for a fact that if this kind of storm hit my community there wouldn't have been any scenes like we saw in NO.There might have been a handful of idiots but they would have been handled by the other 99% who consider helping a neighbor as a noble thing. In NO you had 90% scumbag criminal and 10% good citizen which are terrible odds.

"Everyone brought their drugs, they brought guns, they brought knives. Soldiers were shot.Last Sunday when all those thousands were queued up at the Superdome, it looked as though the people coming in were being thoroughly searched. I guess that wasn't the case after all.
Anyway, I remember FoxNews interviewing two tourists, one from Australia and one from England. They were very upbeat and optimistic about how things were going to go once they got inside. I remember thinking at the time that these were "babes in the woods". NO way would I have gone into that dome.

I'm pretty sure they mean Australian women. Still, it's strange that they use "our women" like that, IMO.

Screw the PR and ponder this story.Oddly enough, this story gives me hope; they did what they had to do to survive. Sorely lacking in others.

"The gangs . . . knew where we were. If the lights had gone out we would have been in deep trouble."If the Leftists should succeed with their lunatic agenda, the lights would go out all over the world, and everyone would be in deep trouble; the hellhole would be global.
Throwing the Democrats out of office and reversing the Leftist/Marxist/Democrat agenda must be the single most important concern of the American people.

I read articles like this all last week, and yet I see footage of these same evacuees at the shelter at Baton Rouge and the Astrodome, and there are a lot of children, loving mothers, older women and religious, God-fearing men. I am beginning to resent stories that 98% of these people are predators. Maybe 2% were predators and I hope they were among the 5 or 6 state police shot and killed after they fired upon the Army Corps of Engineers contractors today.
But enough of characterizing the vast majority of them as predators!

this particular reporter seems quite intent on writing "Heart of Darkness" into the experience. And you think it wasn't? It was hell on earth for those people.

I am sorry--I didn't mean to be sound that way. It is no excuse, but I have been working the last 50 hours---I just checked FR and saw that headline.
Please get the word out--we have turned a corner. Gen Honore is in charge on the streets (the JTF Katrina Commander). He is not a man to be messed with, but he is full of sympathy. He is a Cajun, and has family in New Orleans.
The General also is the most eloquent cusser since Gen Patton in the history of the United States Military.
Take care.

You sound like a Jesse Jackson or an Al Sharpton. If you bothered to read the source, you would see that it came from an Aussie. Get it?

"Ninety-eight per cent of the people around the world are good. In that place, 98 per cent of the people were bad. "
That sounds like a racial comment since 98% of the folks in there were black. Just a coincidence I'm sure.
