"We would not be able to accommodate a giant influx," she said. "We have 90,000 people that are homeless in L.A. County, and we're not doing a comprehensive job of taking care of them now."
I'd like to know who wrote that speech he just gave .. and yes he kept looking down at his notes
"The Rape Boat, soon will be making another run...."
yes the one that broke down on meet the press..he didn't answer the question as to way the evacuation wasn't urged/enforced more..instead he went on this outburst about the aftermath and slow fed response
You are having the same experience I had this morning when I watched this. His name is Aaron Broussard, President of Jefferson Parish, and kcvl dug up a whole lot on him. See the Sunday morning thread.
My cup runneth over. Wonder what he had in that cup before he started using it as a bailing bucket. The caption should be: Sean Penn, Ex Master Sailor [and out of beer].
For a picture of real rescuers go here: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1473113/posts?page=722#722
Kerrick allowed Geraldo to infer that the FEMA guy wasn't doing anything, and then went on to say the problem was the planning.
There was a plan; aside from its inadequacy, the fact is that the Louisiana government dfidn't follow it!!
OK..now Geralado is talking about what city wants all of the aged and infirm? I swear, if he shows up here I will punch him!!
Geraldo hanging himself!
Has he thanked the levee board yet?
Now all the gangstas and thugs can become sure-'nuff PIRATES!
Soem speculation the speech he is READING was written by Donna Brazile.
Oh this is way too funny. My husband is a native New Orleanian and I lived there for 18 years. New Orleans was one of the first major colonial land scams in this hemisphere!! There is/was a brochure in one of the museums put out by Bienville showing the early 18th century printing woodcut version of pictures of rolling hills and friendly food bearing Indians. When the poor settlers finally got there boy were they surprised. Swamps swamps everywhere, some land by the Mississippi River that overflowed its banks the first Spring. Incidently, that's when the first man-made levee went up.
Thousands of Irish immigrants died in the 1840s building the Industrial Canal to connect the Mississippi with Lake Ponchartrain, slaves were too valuable.
You can imagine my reaction. Geraldo reports not only injects himself into the story. He makes himself the ENTIRE STORY. He can only report the story, as everything has happenned since he flew in 48 hours ago.
He's not a reporter, just a Jerry Springer wanna be. Someone needs to break his nose(again)..Fox needs to dump him..I was waiting for him to draw a map with chalk on the sidewalk to tell FEMA where the convention center was...
ROFLMAO!!!! Hahahaha! Pirates!!
Just walked in the door....Thanks for doing this...Now to get caught up....
Anything other than what it was is fine as long as it's a worthwhile investment - another sin city isn't.
mc
AFAIK, formal lines of control still run through Blanco.
Are you talking about the Broussard guy...who starts blubbering on TV????
Dang...these Louisiana politicians sure are emotional...I think they have all cried now..
I think the Saints will play all of their games in SA and eventually re-locate there. I'm not sure LSU will play a home game until November.
