Of course the NG is directed by state, but don't you think that maybe FEMA was "advising" the authorities at state and local what to do? The Gov and the Mayor are the primary culprits here, their incompetentence knows no bounds. Given the situation, not sure sending the NG in by anyone on Tuesday or Wednesday was the best idea. Until they knew if the river levees were breached and the lake levees were "stabilized", sending more folks into the situation to be rescued would have been foolhardy.

You do realize that about 99.9% of the "journalists" have NO clue that this is the case and their reporting isn't even been good enough on this story to get an F on this story. There coverage rates and I. Ignorant and incompetent.

"Heck you had people on Bourbon Street on Monday celebrating because they thought New Orleans had dodged the bullet."
Exactly as I remember they interviewed a bar manager Monday night that had maybe 6 - 10 patrons there drinking, looking somewhat "relieved". Also, I remember there was an 8 PM curfew and people walking around on Bourbon Street and the media was "surprised" the curfew wasn't being enforced.
