It was Bush that asked the Gov and Mayor to order a mandatory evacuation, NOT their idea at all.

"Mayor" Nagin waited
3 days after the NWS warned that Category 4 Katrina was headed right for New Orleans, to order an evacuation. The blood of the dead is on his hands.
And 1,500 buses still stand idle. Just think of how many thousands could have been saved if the incompetant Nagin had simply put these buses into use to evacuate his own people.
To: wthrman
That was magnificent. A heavy weight of responsibility rests on Nagin, and he won't take one ounce of it.

Come on.
Anyone with eyes and two brain cells to rub together knew damn well that there was a 95% chance it was going to be within spitting distance of NO.
Whether it was 20, 40 or 50 miles, it was going to be hell, and the only people who didn't know it didn't WANT to know it. Or were in a drug or alcohol or hubris induced stupor.

Someone needs to get this to Shawn Hannity and Rush. They will get the word out. And most people aren't buying that Bush is at fault. I have been around numerous people the last few days who are generally liberal and politically correct. I have never seen such comment come out of their mouths about how the citizens of NO are acting. Calling them animals, thugs, and thieves. I have been surprised.

I'm just reading the thread, so maybe someone's already said it.
I've been reading FR daily since Friday, uncontrollably.
Saturday Nagin "I am not a drug addict" URGED people to leave. Voluntarily. Sunday morning it was a so-called mandatory evac. But not mandatory enough.
ThugMayor "I am not a drug addict" Nagin has the blood of thousands of people on his hands. And the Lady Gov does as well.

Your comments are some of the best I've seen.
This is a huge wakeup call. The thug underclass/gang element will destroy this country if not put down and disarmed.

Ordering a Mandatory Evacuation of hundreds of thousands of people who don't have transportation is the equivalent of revoking the Law of Gravity. Its ridiculous and completely impossible.

You need to mark that site off your list of places to be. That is very incorrect. The gov has always been a demo

I saw the official order by the mayor and the governor to evacuate which was broadcast on SUNDAY morning. The idiot mayor noted at that time that the airport had closed on SATURDAY and that there was not a rental car to be had in New Orleans. These people are criminally negligent.
To: daybreakcoming
Advice taken. I thought they were both dems.

Another reason why our ability to provide energy for ourselves is so difficult - all the environmental regulations and obstructions. And yet, they blame President Bush. Like he's God or something. Just beats me.
