I do feel bad for those dolphins that were put in the hotel swimming pool. Hope they can hang in there or some one can drop them some food. A certain select group of Americas zoo vets should go there for that sort of relief.

Glad you are not in charge becasue then all those resource would not be entering the area for you to conscript.

So what you are saying is that animal rescue would not show up if they were forced to save humans?

Wow.

That's a dodge. You can't criticize the organization without implicitly criticizing the donors.

You really do not understand. I am not even criticizing the organizations. I am criticizing the rescue of animals before people. Once the people are safe, then save all the animals, but not before.

I have no doubt the Humane Society rescuers will take on whatever load they can on a boat, short of sinking the boat. Do you?

Judging from what has been posted on this thread --- yes, I do doubt that.

How can you live with yourself FReeping while some humans are unable to get electricity?

Because there is no shortage of electricity. Nice try.

No, Erik, it is you who do not understand.

We are donating to the organization because we want the rescue efforts for animals to begin immediately. Not in 3 days. Not in 3 weeks. Immediately.

People first. It's that simple, despite folks with confused loyalties trying to obfuscate the issue.

You need to spend time saving the looter.......the rest of us will handle the animals.

I have actually argued on this thread against helping looters and shooters. They have no humanity and deserve to be treated as such.

My daughter would be greatly comforted if she had her 3 pets. I'm greatly comforted we got her out of a 4th world country alive. I'm not callossed! I know it's painful for these kids. I know they're scarred. It ripped my heart out losing my pure- bred, hand picked, expensive, family pets, to have to leave them essentially during a coup. Yes, yes, yes, it is hard but this is survival. It would be so wonderful if every kid could have their pet, but it is more important they have their lives, that even more kids have their lives. We are so clueless in the US not having lived in 4th world conditions. CLUELESS!!! I'll go to work tonight, knowing how hard my work load is, and knowing nurses are stuck in NO, and thanking God I'm not there, deciding which patient I can keep alive, having an IV in my hand and dragging a pole behind me to keep going. I love dogs passionately, but this is absurd.

No--you're just criticizing the efforts that people are donating to. Same diff.

Only when those efforts are placed ahead of the efforts to save people.

"They cannot fathom that I would never put the life of an animal over a human."

We UNDERSTAND ALREADY. You would never put the life of an animal over a human. I get it, everyone get's it.

You have made up entire 'choice' scenarios in your head... and it's all fiction.

No, because there are those that do not understand the magnitude of this crisis and think that there is enough manpower and equipment to save the people, so its time to save animals.

I am just trying to remind them that saving people comes first. Once all the people are safe, then rescue the animals.

You think that those of us who are giving to Noah's Ark and similar group sare contributing our money to a criminal act.

It's only a criminal act if you rescue an animal when people are still dying. After the people are safe, rescue all the animals (looters not included).

No--it's THIS simple. SAVE BOTH WHEN YOU CAN. You're actually encouraging leaving a pleading animal when you could save it???

I don't think anyone here is suggesting that saving animals should be a higher priority than saving people. But where it's not an either/or situation, efforts to help pets are helpful to people too. Things like this little boy having his dog snatched away from him just before he boarded the bus to Houston is just insane. I'm sure it was a small dog, and there are plenty of animal rescuer workers on the Houston end to take in animals from people arriving at shelters. No tough choices there -- somebody just made the wrong one.

"What are you, some anti-speech advocate?"

No, I just think your record has been playing for too long and people don't want to hear the same thing over and over again.
